Chapter 223 Gideon's POV The uproar that broke out in the Pack Meeting when Dierdra's mark disappeared was nothing compared to the chaos that roared through me. I hadn't believed-hadn't wanted to believe-that on top of everything she had lied about that too. In the wake of initial shock, I felt a cold calm descend upon me, and I stepped closer to Dierdra, watching her face turn towards me full of dread. Fear was in her eyes, and for the first time since she had come into my life, I welcomed its presence. She should be afraid.

She had chosen to enter into my life, and into our pack, solely intent on deceiving me, on accomplishing her own ends. What was her ultimate goal? There was only one way to find out. With a low growl, I leaned over her. Interrogation was, unfortunately, a skill I had honed over many years of practice. Dierdra might be a skilled liar and manipulator, but we would see how good she was at withstanding the questions I had for her now.
