Chapter 213 Avery's POV Catching Dierdra coming back from what was clearly some sort of escapade was like Christmas come early. She had a dodgy, distracted look about her when she got out of the pack vehicle in the parking lot, and she had jumped when I had cornered her on the path. Now she tried to gesture at her baby bump as a method of getting me to back off. However, even her own attempts to appeal to my higher nature were hindered by the doubt on her face. It was like she didn't even believe it herself.

For the first time I took a long hard look at her body, at the swelling of her stomach under her dress. Was it possible that she was faking her pregnancy? Or at least... over-emphasizing it? There will come a time, ---- soon, when all your lies are going to be revealed." She scoffed at my warning, but I saw a hint of real fear in her eyes. I doubted it was because of my words, so it must be something else. Or someone else. Had her meeting not gone well?

Dierdra blinked as though my words were projectiles bouncing off of her head. This time when she growled a response, her wolf shone behind her eyes, a flash of yellow. Was she really that close to
