Chapter 153 As the day moved along, the approaches became more predatory. Men sat around me at dinner, and did not speak to me, only stared at me openly while they chewed their food. They ogled my body, sniffed the air in the wake of my passing, and I found myself watching the exits and scanning passageways before I walked down them, trying to avoid finding myself caught in a bad situation. Now, as I entered the ballroom during the second night of dancing, the unattached Alphas thronged in my vicinity like sharks circling their prey. There was blood in the water, and they all smelled it.
