Gideon’s POV

The rain was coming down hard enough now that I could barely see ten feet ahead of me without the flashlight.

Sebastian was keeping pace just beside me without saying anything. We moved north, toward the creek bed I’d mentioned to Avery. I kept my flashlight low and my eyes on the ground.
