Chapter 121
Did he deserve the beating he received from Patric?
Was Patric really that important to her?
Edgar was very annoyed!
Quite annoyed, indeed!
If possible, he wanted to put a sack over Patric’s head and send him to Antarctica to feed the penguins tomorrow!
Feeling a heavy resentment toward the figure with his back turned in bed, Grace’s lips curled slightly. However, the injury on Edgar’s back did look somewhat glaring.
“Seventeen, apply some medicine to his wound.”
Suddenly mentioned, Seventeen looked puzzled and asked, “Huh? Me?”
Grace glanced at him coldly and questioned, “Who else? Should I do it myself?”
“Fine.”
Seventeen wore a bitter expression.
This ungrateful person actually tried to harm their young miss. Can he give him poison?
Although he was unwilling deep down, he had no choice but to reluctantly retrieve the medical kit since their Miss was watching him closely.
With Seventeen almost done, Grace turned around to leave when a pair of broad and sturdy hands suddenly grabbed her wrist.
“Grace, talk with me for a while…”
Edgar had changed his lying position, not looking up. His voice sounded mu ffled from under the covers, and his long, curly eyelashes trembled slightly. Coupled with his pale complexion, he looked quite “delicate.”
Grace coldly glanced at him and said. “My time is precious; I don’t have the time to accompany you in conversation. Let go.”
She deliberately emphasized the word “accompany,” emphasizing his current status.
Edgar remained motionless and didn’t release his grip.
“Grace, I endured six hours alone this afternoon; it really hurts. The marble floor in the living room is so cold, my whole body has become stiff. Considering that I admitted my mistake, let’s chat for a while…”
His voice was soft, like a feather brushing past, and more like that of a wounded little beast seeking
comfort.

He lay on the living room floor for six hours alone? Grace furrowed her brows and scanned Eighteen, standing aside.
Eighteen lowered his head in panic. “I… I thought Mr. Fallen faluted from doing housework, so 1 didn’t…”
D amn it, the more he explained, the worse it sounded.
Afraid that all the blame would fall on him, Eighteen quickly shut his mouth, retreated, and closed the door behind him.

Chapter 121
With the sound of the door closing, the room fell completely silent.
Grace glanced down at Edgar, who was covered by the blanket. “What do you want to say?”
Edgar held onto her wrist and didn’t let go. “These past few days, when you were with Patric, were you doing well?”
Hmm? Grace furrowed her brows.
Is he pretending to be weak and pitiful just to talk about trivial matters like this?
“Without a certain someone making me feel uneasy, and with Mr. Smith being gentle and considerate, of course, I’m doing very well.”
Knowing that she was mocking him, Edgar put on a serious expression and said, testing her, “I heard that the Smith family has very high standards for their children’s spouses. Do you think Patric would defy the entire family for you?”
Patric marrying her? Haha, what a big joke!
Grace sarcastically glanced at him. “That’s my business. You don’t have the qualifications to meddle in my affairs.”
Edgar noticed her expression, and a faint smile appeared on his thin lips.
“It seems he has no intention of letting the Smith family know about your existence. So, are you being taken care of and supported by him?”
Grace chuckled at his words. “I doubt there’s a man in this world who can take care of and support me. And it seems I’m the only one who takes care of and supports others.”
This statement was incredibly arrogant.
But coming from her, surprisingly, it didn’t feel out of place at all.
Edgar narrowed his eyes slightly, carefully pondering the deeper meaning behind her words. If she truly possessed such capital, then perhaps she really was part of the Smith family.
In that case, her relationship with Patric might have a blood connection. They could never become lovers. Wouldn’t that mean that their previous intimate actions were merely those of family members?
Although this thought was only his speculation and hadn’t been confirmed, deep down, Edgar secretly hoped it was true.
Lost in his thoughts, Grace noticed that he kept spouting meaningless, sarcastic remarks. She turned her head and was about to leave.
Because Edgar was holding onto her wrist, Grace couldn’t leave and became annoyed. “Edgar, what are you trying to do?”
The man, with a pale face, looked at her pitifully. “Grace, my back hurts a lot. Can you blow on it to make it feel better?”
“Hmm?”
Grace was completely thunderstruck by his request. How come she never noticed that he could be so clingy?
“Are you beaten up on your back or is it your brain that’s been hit? Doesn’t it work? Speak in a way that I can understand!”
Edgar remained silent. He was truly in pain and tired. He just wanted her to comfort him for a
moment.
Chapter 121
Seeing that he wasn’t speaking, Grace forcefully pried his hand off her wrist and was about to leave. However, from behind, Edgar suddenly spoke with a deep voice: “During the days I was away. 1 went to the mountains near the border between Wind City and Trant City. The reason I came back late was because I was being pursued by a group of people, and those people were sent by Chris Smith.”
Grace’s footsteps abruptly halted. Did Big Brother send people to kill him?
The third brother had only told her about Edgar’s whereabouts and that he couldn’t come back for the time being. But he didn’t tell her that the reason Edgar stayed behind was because of Big Brother.
She suddenly remembered Edgar’s reaction when he returned after she injected him with the special medicine. Was the injury on his waist caused by Big Brother’s people?
Grace stood by the door for a moment before smiling and responding. “Why are you suddenly telling me all this? Did you think I would care about you?”
After speaking, she opened the door and left.
Seventeen was waiting outside the door and noticed the strange expression on her face when she
