Chapter 125
Realizing something was amiss, he opened the door and took a look. There was no one in front of the desk computer.
“Grace?”
Edgar’s face changed, and he walked in to investigate. The gasping sound… was coming from under
the desk.
He swiftly lifted the tablecloth and saw Grace curled up in a cramped space, her face unnaturally flushed. He squatted down and gently touched her neck with his hand, discovering that her whole body was burning up.
This condition…
Half of the coffee on the table had been consumed, and the sugar packets in the tray had been torn open. He recalled the abnormal behavior of Yvonne when he visited the old house a few hours ago and instantly understood what was going on.
“D amn it!” He lifted Grace out from under the desk.

Feeling the cold body brush against her was comforting. Under the influence of the medication, Grace had an indescribable thought for the first time.
She tightly wrapped her arms around the man’s neck, driven by the scent of male hormones, which incited her to commit something she would regret.
Edgar carried her back to the bedroom, feeling her restless movements. Afraid of hurting her, het lightened his grip.
“Grace, hold on a little longer. You’ll be fine soon.”
Hearing the familiar voice, Grace forced her consciousness, lifting her eyes to take a look. The moment she recognized Edgar, her heart was filled with anger. Suppressing her feelings of desire, she raised her hand and slapped him across the face.
Having been drugged, the slap wasn’t too heavy, but Edgar, who was about to head to the bathroom, was caught off guard. Grace struggled and slipped from his grasp, but her hand still clung tightly to his collar.
Suddenly, both of them lost their balance and fell to the ground.
Seeing Grace’s head about to hit the bed commer, Edgar disregarded everything else. He held her neck, pulling her towards him, and used his back to cu shion the impact, hitting the ground first.

“Ugh, hiss…”
His back slammed hard against the bed corner, and the still swollen injury intensified, causing him to break out in a cold sweat. He nearly fainted on the spot. Before he could recover from the intense pain in his back, there was a loud “cr ack as another slap landed forcefully on his face.
Grace had managed to break free from his embrace, dragging the upper half of his body onto the floor. She viciously pressed her knee against his chest and tightly gripped his collar.
When she looked at him, her pupils were filled with boundless hatred.
“Edgar! You’re despicable and shameless! Your words tonight were indeed just an act! You thought that by drugging me, I would lose control and let your filthy intentions succeed? You’re dreaming!”
“Grace, calm down, this matter…”
“Cr ack!”

Chapter 125
Another slap hit him on the face, and this time, Grace exerted all her remaining strength. The
mixture of anger and resentment burned in her heart, threatening to consume her sanity completely.
The slap left a ringing in Edgar’s ears, and he felt a momentary dizziness. The intense pain from hitting the corner of the bed with his back hadn’t subsided yet.
His facial features twisted in agony, but before he could catch his breath, he noticed that Grace’s hand gripping his collar was trembling, and her eyes were filled with murderous intent.
“Edgar, I want you to suffer a fate worse than death!”
Grace released him, struggling to regain consciousness and reach for the alarm button on the bedside. Suddenly, that overwhelming anger surged within her, making her uncontrollably curl up on the floor, shivering. There was a sinister voice in her head, urging her to attack a certain man to vent her anger!
But she couldn’t! Absolutely not! She pressed her body against the cold floor, trying to awaken her senses with its icy touch.
Enduring the pain, Edgar propped himself up and saw her suffering on the floor alone.
If she didn’t vent her anger and lust after being drugged, she would feel unbearable torment, even to the point of wanting to die!
Despite the extent of her suffering, she still didn’t want to pounce on him. Did the antidote take effect? Had her disgust for him already reached the depths of her bones?
Edgar smiled wryly, walking towards her, intending to pick her up again.
“Don’t touch me! I will kill you!”
Edgar’s hand froze for a second, but he resolutely chose to lift her up. “Fine, do whatever you want. until the effects of the drug wear off.”
Grace no longer had the strength to break free from his grip. Her mind was lazy, and she could only let him carry her into the bathroom.
Edgar turned on the showerhead, filling the bathtub with cold water.
Worried that the temperature difference between hot and cold would be too severe for her body to handle, he gently and slowly placed her in the bathtub. He clenched his teeth, resisting the trembling of his hands, so as not to accidentally drop her. He continued to support her until the water reached her collarbone, then he withdrew his sore arms.
Lying in the bathtub, Grace felt the coolness gradually enveloping her body. The fiery anger in her heart subsided slightly, and her furrowed brows slowly relaxed. Overwhelmed, she fell into a deep sleep.
Edgar sat by the edge of the bathtub, keeping watch. He remembered the night before their divorce, when he wrongly accused her of drugging him and sarcastically mocked her the next day.
He never expected karma to come so swiftly. Now it was his turn to be falsely accused.
He smiled bitterly. Knowing Grace’s personality, once she regained consciousness, this matter would not be easily forgiven.
This was his retribution what he deserved.
