Eleven. Twelve, and the others were squeezed by the crowd and couldn’t move. They didn’t dare push people, fearing that they might hurt the masses. After all, these people were not ordinary individuals; they were the distinguished sons and daughters of the upper class.
Jade took the opportunity to exchange a meaningful look with Nancy. Nancy understood her intention and swiftly broke free from the guards restraint while their attention was focused on the crowd. She quickly escaped from the crowd.
The guards’ faces turned pale, and they were about to chase after her, but they were blocked by the crowd.
Seventeen was infuriated. “Don’t you have eyes? Even if you don’t agree with our young miss taking someone away, you shouldn’t allow the escape of a fugitive like Nancy!”
Jade smiled. “There’s no need for you to chase after her. I’ve already notified the authorities. I don’t think she can get far, and JC will take care of her. There’s no need for the watchdogs of Miss Grace to take action.”
Watchdogs?
Seventeen and the others gritted their teeth in anger, but since their young miss didn’t speak, they remained silent. Grace tightly pursed her lips; her face was dark.
Edgar saw her expression and called out softly. “Grace.”
She looked up in response, giving him a cold glance devoid of any warmth.
“She is your responsibility, this matter….
Before she could finish her sentence, Edgar quickly interrupted, “She is not my responsibility!”
Grace’s expression remained unchanged as she continued, “Anyway, this matter is for Mr. Fallen to handle on his own. Whenever you’re done, then you can return to the villa.”
Edgar knew she was still angry and wanted to reach out and hold her wrist to plead with her, but he was interrupted by the hurried arrival of Eric.
“Boss, I’m sorry I’m late!”
Edgar’s face immediately turned dark.
Suppressing the urge to turn around and beat Eric, he calmly gave orders, “Nancy ran towards the secluded bamboo forest path at the back. She is injured and can’t get far. Go after her.”

“Yes,”
After Eric acknowledged it, he immediately dashed in the direction that was mentioned. Edgar calmed his emotions and was about to reach out again to hold Grace’s wrist, but she calmly twisted her body to avoid him.
Grace looked at the surrounded guards, Eleven, Twelve, and the others. “Disperse the crowd and let the banquet continue.”
The main actors in the play have all left, so there’s nothing interesting to see. The crowd quickly dispersed. Once most of the people had left, Grace approached Jade. Her beautiful eyes were cold, sharp, and unrestrained. When she locked eyes with Jade, she smirked and said, “Miss Evans, considering our past grievances, I originally only intended to ruin the Evans family’s fortune. If you behave yourself, I might spare your life. But if you conspire with anyone to cause trouble and I find out, you might not be able to afford the consequences,”

Jade was frightened by the warning in Grace’s eyes and momentarily froze. After a few seconds, she finally reacted and smiled back, saying. “Miss Grace, don’t worry. Who wins and who loses, who cleans up who, is still uncertain!”
Grace narrowed her eyes and smiled, saying. “I’ll be waiting.”
After speaking, she left the charity event without looking back, accompanied by Eleven and several bodyguards, leaving behind a lonely Edgar. He wanted to catch up to her, but Jade stopped him. “Cousin, the event isn’t over yet. Are you in such a hurry to leave? Stay with me a little longer!”
Edgar glared angrily and said, “Get lost.”
After coldly uttering those words, he immediately chased after her outside the hotel.
As Grace was about to get into the car and close the door, Edgar quickly grabbed the door, saying, “Grace, wait!”
“What is it?”
Edgar glanced into the car first. Eleven was driving. Twelve was in the passenger seat, and Fifteen and Seventeen were absent, presumably going to take Tom back to the Walker family.
With a tight grip on the car door, Idgar spoke softly, afraid to provoke her anger with even a slightly louder voice: “Grace, I also want to go back to the villa. Could you move inside a bit?”
Because Grace had just gotten into the car, she was sitting on the right side closer to the road, and the left side was vacant.
Under the dim streetlight, Edgar’s black eyes gleamed faintly as he stared at her, cautious and subtly hopeful.
Grace gave him a cold glance, almost without hesitation, and said, “No.”
“Whoever brought you here, let them take you back, or better yet, use your own legs to walk back.”
Her tone was ice-cold, devoid of any warmth.
Ever since he refused to sign the termination of the employment agreement, Grace has never shown him a good face. Tonight, she is as distant from him as she was on the night they were punished for kneeling in the rain.
A shadow passed over the corners of Edgar’s eyes, and his eyelashes drooped lightly, as if restraining immense grief.
“Grace, there’s a reason why I came here tonight with Jade. Can you listen to my explanation?”
Grace withdrew her gaze, not even glancing at him, and simply said, “The villa will keep the door for you until eleven o’clock. If you don’t make it back, then you can go sleep on the streets by yourself. Let go.”
There was a hint of redness in the corners of Edgar’s eyes.
What a heartless and unscrupulous woman! How could her heart be as hard as stone?
He felt suffocated, and his chest ached. Reluctantly, he released his grip on the door handle. Just as he let go, the car door slammed shut with a loud “bang,” and then sped away like an arrow, leaving him behind with a face full of exhaust fumes.
He choked and coughed twice, standing alone in place, watching the car disappear into the night.
“Boss!”
