Chapter 181

Noticing that she was being teased by Joseph in front of Abbie and Aiden, Paige was extremely speechless. She shook Joseph's hand away and changed a seat.

The smile on Joseph's face disappeared.

Aiden had known him for so many years and he understood him better.

Of course, Joseph was not so shameless. He already put down his ego to be so nice to Paige today and yet she gave him a cold shoulder. Of course, Joseph would be unhappy!

He picked up a bottle of wine and poured some for Joseph, "You like barbecue, don't you? Eat more!"

Joseph remained silent as he lowered his head to eat. He drank a lot of wine speedily but didn't really eat much.

Seeing that he kept drinking, Aiden reached out to stop him, "Hey, don't drink too much. It's bad for your health, you know?"

"I'm fine," Joseph drank another glass of wine.

Aiden looked at Paige and said, "Miss Anderson, please talk to him. He doesn't have a good stomach and he's gonna end up in the hospital!"

This was clearly a way to soften her heart.

Paige didn't want to persuade him at all, but she was worried that he would hurt himself.

After some consideration, she reached out to snatch the cup from Joseph's hand. It seemed that she was actually concerned for his health.

Joseph didn't protest and he just leaned lazily on the chair. All the while, he kept staring at Paige intensely without eating or drinking.

Aiden got up and left to answer a phone call. In a few minutes, Abbie's phone rang too. Aiden had called and asked her to go out.

Therefore, only Paige and Joseph were left here. The atmosphere was awkward at this point. Paige didn't know how to act when Joseph was staring at her in that manner.

She stopped and looked at him stiffly, "Why are you staring at me like that?"

"Because you are beautiful…"

"Humph!" Paige snorted. She then thought it would be nice to make things clear with him.

"Thank you for helping me today..."

"It's nothing. I'm doing what I should do," Joseph interrupted her.

"I won't let anyone bully you!"

"Actually, my affairs have nothing to do with you! I'll deal with my own issues in the future, so you don't have to help me."
