Chapter 13: stay please

Darius POV

I went to my bed two hours ago and I was not able to fall asleep. I laid on my back above my duvet in my boxers and sweatpants. I have been tossing and turning the whole time. I’ve tried laying on my back, both of my sides, and my stomach but nothing worked. I was starting to grow restless.

I have been working my ass off me with a lot of paperwork since I left Alea's room trying to figure out what pack she belonged to and why the moonlit pack hunted her down and beat her, but I haven't been able to find out anything.

Every time I close my eyes my brain goes haywire trying to figure out why anyone would do that to her. I put my right arm over my eyes trying again. I breathed in a deep and calm breath trying to sleep when I heard an ear-piercing scream echo through my packhouse.

I jumped out of my bed and ran toward my door. I opened the door and came out in the hallway and I heard the screaming coming from Alea's room.

"They are here! Get them off me!"

I ran towards her door and threw it open and saw Alea sitting up in her bed screaming her lungs out. I ran to her and took hold of her arms while looking straight at her face. Her eyes were empty and they showed so much fear.

"Alea! What's the matter?"
