Chapter 50: Triplets

Liam’s POV

Father Lennox leaned forward, his hands clasped on the desk. "Leon. Liam. Leo. Sit." He gestured to the empty chairs. But we didn’t sit; my intuition told me something was oddly wrong.

When Father realized we weren’t taking our seats, he continued. "With the ordination tomorrow, it is time we discuss the future of the Full Moon Pack. These are the daughters of Alpha Thorne from the Silver Lake Pack."

My blood ran cold. I didn’t need him to finish the sentence. I knew exactly what this was.

"They have traveled a long way," Father Levi added, his eyes scanning us for a reaction. "And since you are to be ordained as Alphas tomorrow, it is only fitting that you begin the process of selecting your own Lunas. It is time to secure our bloodline with those who are worthy of the title."

The girls looked at us with expectant eyes, but I didn’t stop myself from glaring at them.

"I refuse," Leon said, his voice ringing out through the study. It was the first time I’d heard him sound like an Alpha in weeks.

Father Levi’s eyes narrowed, his gaze sharpening into a deep frown. "Why, Leon? These women are of the highest lineage. Their father is a respected ally."

I wished I could roar the truth. I wished I could scream that I had a mate—a mate I had watched suffer while I stayed silent, a mate whom my cousin is now claiming. But the word "mate" stayed choked in my throat, a secret that felt like a death sentence.

"Because I don’t know them," I snapped, stepping forward until I was looming over the desk. "I don’t know if we’re even compatible. You expect us to lead a pack with strangers by our sides?"
