Chapter 67: His Warnings

Scarlett POV

The triplets were already there, seated on one side of the long mahogany table. They looked exhausted, their formal robes replaced by training gear, as if they had just come back from a brutal run. Across from them sat the three sisters—Camila, Bianca, and Talia—looking radiant in their morning dresses.

But it was the head of the table that made me stop in my tracks. Alpha Lennox, Alpha Levi, and Alpha Louis were all present, their faces grim. Lennox’s eyes snapped to mine the moment I entered, his gaze sharp and calculating.

Ethan pulled out a chair for me, and I sat down, my knees shaking under the table. I looked down at the white lace tablecloth, but I could feel Lennox staring at me from the head of the table. He was leaning back, his hands steepled under his chin, watching me with an intensity that told me he knew exactly what I had seen in the woods.

I felt the triplets’ gazes burning into the side of my head, a mix of possessive fury and shock, but I kept my eyes fixed on the porcelain plate in front of me.

The silence in the room was heavy enough to choke on until Ethan finally spoke. His voice wasn’t the kind, worried tone from my bedroom; it was cold and furious.

"Camila, Bianca, Talia," he started, his voice cutting the suffocating silence. "Do you care to explain why you went to my fiancée’s room last night and attacked her?"

My heart stopped. My fork slipped from my fingers, clattering loudly against the china. Fiancée? Did he just call me his fiancée? I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, but his expression was like granite, his jaw set in a hard line.

The sisters’ lips parted in unison, their smug expressions shattering into pure horror. Camila tried to stammer out a denial, but Ethan didn’t give her the chance to breathe.

"I don’t know what lies you’ve been told about Scarlett, but that was her past," he continued, his silver-grey eyes flashing with annoyance. "Right now, she is my fiancée. My wife-to-be. She is Alpha Ethan Damien Luciano’s future Luna, and you will remember that."
