The descendants of the Zhou family would invite their friends to the annual family gathering. It was the perfect opportunity for them to flaunt their connections.

Usually, Zhou Yang and Zhou Wen were the ones who brought the most guests. It was not surprising considering that the former was a successful businessman and the latter a high-ranked government official.

The other descendants also brought people with a considerable amount of influence to show off.

Zhou Lie's family was the least well-off among the descendants. He also had a fiery temper, which meant that his friends were few. He usually brought unremarkable civil servants or soldiers who were there for free food.

The other people of the Zhou family were happy to mock him every year.

"Keep it down, please, Yang. Father gathered all of us here so that our family could stay united. What's the point of one-upping each other?" Zhou Yong spoke up for Zhou Lie.

He was the only one to do so at the family gathering.

"I don't care what friends you bring, and I don't need to care," Zhou Lie said as he took a puff from his pipe. His gaze swept disdainfully over his siblings, and he continued, "So what if I didn't bring any guests? Chu Feng himself is enough. He's better than all the other guests combined."

The other people regarded Zhou Lie as though he was an idiot.

"Haha, what a joke! What can Chu Feng do? He's only a b*stard child!" Yu Hui was the first to laugh. "He can't even compare to Zhou Yao's pinky finger! How can he compare to any of our guests then?"

"Shut up!" Zhou Yong said angrily. "Feng is also a part of the Zhou family and our nephew. Aren't you tired of calling him a b*stard?"

Yu Hui pouted sullenly and sat down.

"I think you're mistaken this time, Yong," the gentlemanly Zhou Wen said. "Lie's adopted son hasn't been included in the Zhou family records. He can't be considered a descendant of the Zhou family."

He shot a glance at Zhou Lie and continued, "Lie, I'm sure there's a reason why you brought your adopted son to the family gathering this year. Are you planning to beg Father to include him in the family records?"

The people around them turned their gazes toward Zhou Lie and regarded him with mockery and disdain.

There was no way an unremarkable and talentless b*stard child be included in the Zhou family records. He must be dreaming if he thought he would succeed.

Zhou Lie exhaled a smoke ring and said, "You should quit fantasizing, Wen. What makes you think the Zhou family deserves to have Feng in the records?"

If he announced Chu Feng's real identity, even Grandmaster Zhou would have to kneel before him!
