Suzanne closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She tried to swallow her distress, but it was just too painful to bear.

Unbidden tears welled in her eyes.

The next morning, Suzanne got out of bed, freshened herself up, and walked out of her bedroom.

She was startled when she saw the people sitting on the sofa in the living room–they were important people, whose discussion of important matters was interrupted by her

They looked at her curiously.

Nathan stood up and introduced her politely. “Mr. President, this is my wife, Suzanne.”
