The company shouldn’t be paying for slackers, and I did take a pretty long leave after only working for a few days. It’s natural for others to feel uncomfortable about it. Carter smiled gently.

He gestured for Amelia to sit down. “Amelia, don’t be so nervous. The company is progressing well, and everyone has their own assigned work.
