Evan furrowed his brow and questioned, looking at the item Benjamin handed him, “What’s this?”

“It’s a cow’s tears. You don’t believe the girl, right? You can apply this to your eyes. It’ll work better than

me explaining,” Benjamin replied.

Evan watched silently, hesitant to use something of unknown origin on his eyes.

Reuben took the bottle of cow’s tears from Benjamin. “Just put it on the eyes, right?”

Benjamin nodded. “You don’t need much. It’s a precious and rare item.”

“Okay.”

Reuben opened the bottle, poured some onto his palm, and applied it to his eyes.

“Go outside,” Benjamin reminded.

Reuben followed the instructions, heading outside. As he was about to step out, he noticed a face at the

door.

It was the face of an elderly woman who appeared to be around 60 years old. She had a noticeable wound on her forehead, with blood seeping from it.

Despite his courage, Reuben was startled by the sight and took a few steps back, accidentally bumping

into Evan.
