Paige shared her concern, “I feel the same way. It seems like there might have been something between Azure and Alex in the past.”

Caroline said, “I don’t think so. Since he wants to go with you, it means he’s guilt–free.”

Paige disagreed, “No, I feel he’s coming with me because he’s afraid I might discover something. This way, he can signal Azure to stop her from saying anything she shouldn’t.”

Caroline asked, “Why doesn’t he just call her and tell her that? Is Alex with you now?”

Paige replied, “Yes, he’s in the kitchen cooking dinner for me, wearing an apron.”

Caroline chuckled. “Alex used to be quite the charismatic figure, but now he’s so smitten by you that he willingly gets into the kitchen.”

Paige felt touched, saying, “I suppose so. Alex does have many strengths.”

Caroline checked the time and said, “Alright, I won’t interrupt your sweet time with him. I’m going to get the children ready for bed.”

Paige said, “Sure. Wait for my update tomorrow.”
