Nicole pursed her lips and looked up with pitiful eyes. "Things have already come to this. Why would I need to lie to you at this point? Gareth, our families have a close business relationship, and you know my family's prominence and wealth. Why would I want to do something like that to humiliate myself?"

Gareth observed her expression as she argued for herself.

Nicole tried hard to calm down and looked at Gareth as if she was telling the truth.

Seeing that Gareth remained silent, Nicole added, "Didn't Elisa say that woman has a small mole on her chest? I can prove I'm not her."

Nicole had a severe expression and did not seem like she was joking at all.

Thomas, who stood at the back, could not help but be surprised.

Nicole was the eldest daughter of the Tabor family. She seemed pure and innocent. It would require much courage for an unmarried lady like her to say such words to a man.

Thomas was not present during the incident. Moreover, the culprit disguised herself as Elisa. Therefore, Thomas could not help but be swayed after seeing Nicole's determination.

However, Gareth remained unmoved.

"You're betting on me not daring to make you strip." Gareth narrowed his eyes as he looked at Nicole. His gaze was cold and calculative.

That was Gareth's true color. He would never show pity to anyone.

Nicole knew he did not care about her, but she also knew she could not give up and admit to wrongdoings.

She bravely met his gaze. "I didn't say that you wouldn't dare. I did nothing wrong and have nothing to fear. Elisa has no right to accuse me as the culprit. Where is her proof? The culprit disguised herself as Elisa and had a mole on her chest. All I have to do is remove my clothes to prove my innocence. Then, you can see for yourself that I'm not her. What is there to bet or to be afraid of?"

Gareth did not respond.

Nicole's words meant nothing to him.

He disliked having to say much to anyone.

Nicole was only a suspect, and they did not have direct evidence against her yet.

She would have to remain there since she refused to admit her actions.

"It's good that you're not afraid. Still, the needles on your body would permanently affect you if left there too long. You should admit what you did and ask Elisa to release you if you don't want to become paralyzed," Gareth said indifferently and left.

Thomas followed Gareth and wanted to give him a thumbs up for his speech just now.

Gareth had adapted to the situation quickly, leaving Thomas impressed.

Nicole watched Gareth walk away and knew it was pointless to say anything at this point. Still, she refused to give in or panic.

She was determined to exhaust their patience.
