When Fate Decided to Play its Part
Chapter 61: Snap, snap
CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE:
Snap, snap
--
Inside a medium size room, the people that were evacuated on their floor was softly murmuring to each other. Some were seated but most are not since the seats were not enough to accommodate them all. Although it might not be time for it, some are resenting the people seating on the couches secretly but cannot say anything since they have higher statuses than them. No matter how dangerous the situation is, it seems like the priority of the masses are those people with more power and higher statuses.
In the inner most part of the room, there was another separate couch with a table. There seated the other four: April, Sheryl, Dave, and Aron. April was seating in front of a laptop, she was sweating even though the room has air conditioner. Of course, the sweat that was breaking on her forehead and was sliding on her face were cold sweats. Her right hand was on a mouse, and her forefinger was clicking on it as she keeps on alternating from cameras to cameras. One might not see it clearly, but her hand was shaking.
“What should we do now?” Dave asked nervously. “Does he even know how to do first aid?”
Aron pursed his lips before saying, “He does, but it won’t matter if she loses more blood.”
April bit her lips and groaned internally, the three might not say it out loud, they know that they were feeling guilty about it. They might not be the cause of these men randomly entering the hotel, killing the guards, threatening them with their bombs, and finally making everyone their hostages. But April knew that she was the one who more or less lead Althea’s situation to this. She was the one who cooked something bad for both of the parties, she dragged her up to their floor. She is the guiltiest of the three.
If only she did not crave the satisfaction of seeing Sheryl’s face twisting in anger, Althea could have evacuated safely with the others on that floor.
“April.” Someone called her. She looked at her left, it was Aron. “Stop thinking about anything else.”
“I was not.” She denied. April grunted inside her mind. As usual, he is sharp. She looked back at the screen and watched Tyler carry Althea towards the room she already unlocked using their system. The three of them anxiously watched him run while carrying her limp body in a bridal carry, and also the guy that was chasing them.
April anxiously bit her lip when she saw the other two moves on the corner of the screen. She hopes that he will arrive at the room fast before they catch up. April can’t begin to imagine how hard it was to run while carrying a full-grown adult woman and also while trying to be conscious of their back incase a flying bullet came flying again.
