Stephen's face flushed.

The meaning behind Sebastian's words was clear. He was telling his mother off for being inhumane.

However, as a son, he could not even rebut Sebastian.

It was true that his mother and uncle were at fault in the past. Therefore, as a son, he could only listen to Sebastian's ridicule, unable to say a word of rebuttal.

Seeing his son's face flushing in embarrassment, George had nothing to say. He felt ashamed; it was a feeling he had never felt before.

All this while, he considered himself to be a good person, and his family never did anything against their conscience.

Not even in his dreams did he expect his wife to have committed such a crime.

When Sebastian called his wife inhumane in front of him, he could not even defend her, because Sebastian was right. His wife was inhumane.

Just as he was about to explain to his second son, Stephen uttered, "Yes, I admit that my uncle and mother's actions at that time were not right, but so many years have passed since the incident. Even if the truth is made public, Leigh's parents will not be revived from the dead. Why don't we try to make up for Leigh and give her as much compensation as possible?"

Sebastian smiled and replied, "Young Master Stephen, you are indeed your mother's son. I remember that when I found evidence that Katie had wronged Maddie, your mother said the same thing. 'It has been a long time since the incident, so why do you have to punish Katie? Why don't you let Katie go and compensate Maddie for the sake of the Taylor Family?' was what she said."

Sebastian looked at Stephen with raised eyebrows. "Remember these words from your mother that day at Wendel Residence in Wendel City? Didn't your mother say that to Maddie? That's why I said you are your mother's son indeed. You are the same deep down!"

"I..." Stephen's face instantly reddened when he heard Sebastian snapping back at him. Out of anger, he raised his voice. "Are my mother and I wrong? The incident is in the past. Does it still make sense to hold anyone accountable? Don't you think it's more important to compensate those who have been hurt?"

"Oh, so that's what you think!" Sebastian nodded as if he had just discovered something.

"If that is the case, I have to ask you another question... If you and Leigh were to exchange identities, your parents as well as your grandfather would have been murdered unjustly. When you found out the truth today, the other party decided to compensate you with a lot of money. Are you willing to settle privately, take the money, live a happy life, and forget the grievances of your parents and grandfather? Will you happily use that money to enjoy prosperity and wealth?"
Stephen's face flushed.

The meaning behind Sebastian's words was clear. He was telling his mother off for being inhumane.

"I..." Stephen stuttered, but nothing else came out of his lips. Only sweat was forming on his forehead while he was rendered speechless.

"Why aren't you answering my question?" Sebastian pursed his lips and chuckled.

"Isn't it an easy question to answer? There are only two answers, yes or no. It's as easy as that. What's so difficult about it?"

Stephen was ashamed and angry, so his face turned scarlet.

Was this question difficult to answer?

No. Not at all.

If it was him, he believed that his choice would be the same as Leigh's.

No matter how much the other party compensated him, he must also make his enemies pay the price.

The worse, the better!

But he could not say that.

If he said that, wouldn't that mean that Sebastian and Leigh were right?

However, he could not answer that he would let go of the murderers who killed his parents after taking the money.

His father was sitting in front of him. If he said that, his father would be utterly disappointed in him as he had raised a son in vain.

He had only now realized what it meant that some things were easier said than done and why it was important to treat others nicely.

Compensating Leigh with money to convince her to let go of his mom was easy to say, but if it were to happen to him, he might be even more anxious to seek revenge.

Seeing him in a dilemma and being set on fire by Sebastian, Ethan hopped in to save him. Looking at Sebastian sincerely, he uttered, "President Hart, we all know that what happened back then was indeed my uncle and my mother's fault. My uncle is the main culprit, and my mother was implicated. If Leigh wants to take revenge, she can do whatever she wants to my uncle. We won't get involved, but for my mother…"

He then stood up and begged earnestly, "Please also consider that my mother is Maddie's aunt. I promise you that as long as Leigh agrees to settle this matter privately, our family is willing to compensate Leigh with the greatest sincerity."

Sebastian smiled.

The Taylor Family was about to abandon their soldiers and protect their commanders.

Their uncle was their relative, but their mother was undeniably closer to them by blood.
