"We agree!" Derrick suddenly announced out loud. "We agree to your terms."

"I don't!" Rachael stomped her feet angrily. "I don't have that much money!"

"You take out as much as you have, and your mother and I will give you the rest," Derrick said tiredly. "If you don't want to go to jail, you should be honest and obedient. If you want to go to jail, your mother and I will not care."

Rachael gritted her teeth and stopped talking, for she was still afraid of going to jail.

"Mom, I want to divorce her!" Brian knelt beside the hospital bed and said in a choked voice. "She hurt you like this; I must divorce her!"

"You..." Belle closed her eyes and did not open them. "You were born to me, so no one in this world knows you better than me. You are not a bad person, but you are soft-hearted and easily misled by words. As such, you'll lose all your bearings. The determination that you have now in divorcing Rachael will definitely fade, and you will change your mind when Rachael brings her kids to you to cry and beg for your forgiveness..."

"No, I won't change my mind." He shook his head vigorously. "Mom, I can swear, I—"

"It's useless for you to swear," She interrupted him, saying. "Okay, save it. Anyway, Larry and Lucy are innocent, and I don't want them to lose a parent. As long as Alex has a good life, I don't care what you and Rachael do."

Thinking of his smart and lively children, Brian opened his mouth but had nothing to say.

"You and Rachael have to sort it out yourself," Belle continued. "While I'm still alive, take Alex through the house transfer procedures, and there are 3 million more..." She labored to open her eyes and looked at Madeline. "Miss Taylor, Alex is too young to apply for a bank card. Please give me your bank card number and let Brian and Rachael send you 3 million."

"Are you crazy?" Rachael couldn't help screaming. "Brian is your own son, yet you don't believe in your own son and believe in an outsider! You asked your own son to transfer money to an outsider's bank card? Have you been brainwashed?"

"You're right. I don't believe in Brian because he doesn't deserve my trust." Belle looked at her coldly. "You don't have the right to speak here, or do you want to go to jail?"

"You..." Rachael was so furious she couldn't speak.

However, Laine tugged at her clothes and shook her head at her.

Rachael was so angry that she was about to vomit blood.

The house she and Brian lived in now was bought when they got married. The mortgage was only paid off this year, and the house price had more than doubled from when they bought it. Moreover, when she bought the house, her parents were the ones who gave her money for it. Otherwise, how could Brian, a poor guy, be able to afford a house in Dusktown? Now, she was asked to give the house to Alex.

Ugh! Why did I push this old woman and cause all this?

If it weren't for Belle threatening to put her in jail, Rachael would never have given her house to that little b*stard, Alex!

She considered herself to be an intellectual—a well-bred and well-mannered lady who was not on the same level as Belle—but she was so angry with the older woman that she cursed in her heart. Nevertheless, she only dared to curse in her heart and not outwardly. After all, that elderly woman had dirt on her.

I will not let Alex go! When this old woman dies, will things still go the way she wants?

She was so angry that she gnashed her teeth. After some time, the people around would forget what happened today, and by then, she would find a way to get the house and savings back from Alex. She was a highly educated adult, so she was not worried about dealing with a child. As for Brian, she was not concerned about him at all.

Belle said that she was the one who knew Brian best, and she was no worse, either.

Although she didn't like what Belle said, what Belle said was right—Brian was soft-hearted. Even though Brian looked like he was siding with Belle now and would do whatever Belle asked him to do, he would defect to Rachael's side after some persuasion once Belle breathed her last.

After all, Rachael shared the same bed with Brian for more than 6 years. She knew exactly what Brian's character was like, so she didn't believe that Brian could get away from her! Once Belle died, and no one spoke up for Alex, Brian would side with her and her two children after some persuasion. In the future, Alex would be nothing.

No one would help Alex then, and by then, everything under Alex's name would be hers. Thinking of this, she finally felt a little more at ease.
