"Aaron…" Belle tried her best to open her eyes to look at Aaron. "You're a good son and brother…"

She looked at Aaron's wife. "Olivia, you're a good woman too…"

"Mom…" Olivia wiped away her tears and tried to smile, "Don't overthink things. You will get well soon…"

Belle shook her head; her voice was soft like a sigh. "No, I am satisfied as I see you one last time before my death…"

She looked at Aaron's three children with attachment.

She brought up her two grandsons and one granddaughter. They were all good children who were hardworking, kind, affectionate, and righteous. Somehow, such a family had a mutated soul. Brian was a successful man, yet he was cruel.

Belle sighed. "Aaron, you're a good man. Brian has achieved all he has today because of your hard work. However, he forgot all about you after his success. Still, you and Olivia did not blame him and lived your life. In the eyes of others, Brian is successful, and he is the pride of our family. However, he is not in my heart. You are my pride…"

"Mom!" Aaron tried his best to endure the tears. "Mom, stop talking. Take care of yourself. When you are feeling better, let's go home. We will take care of you. Please, go home with me. You will be fine…"

"I know you and Olivia are filial…" Belle reached out to Olivia, and the latter hurriedly held the elderly woman's hand.

"Mom…"

Belle looked at Olivia kindly. "Olivia, Aaron is fortunate to have married such a good wife as you. You're sensible and kind-hearted, just like Yuri. Our family must be blessed to have both of you as our daughters-in-law."

Standing near the end of the bed, Rachael clenched her fists tightly. She clenched her teeth in hatred.

She didn't want to come, but her parents forced her.

They said that as a daughter-in-law, it was not appropriate for Rachael to not stay by Belle's side when the latter was on her deathbed like what the doctor had said. Besides being criticized, Brian would completely hate her.

As Rachael didn't want to be separated from Brian, she had to stay in the hospital despite her reluctance.

However, Belle's words were stabbing at her heart. Didn't one say a man's words are kind when death is close? So, why does this old woman refuse to forgive me? Instead, she's criticizing me!

Belle reached out to Aaron's three children. They gathered around and cried for their grandmother.

Although their grandmother was uneducated as she only graduated from elementary school, she was the village's tidiest and most reasonable old lady.

Belle would never talk loudly. She would never quarrel or scold children if she was in a bad mood. Their grandma had never beaten or scolded them. Belle would reason with them in a low voice if they did something wrong.

To them, Belle was the best grandmother in the village. However, she was now dying.

The three children were crying, and tears covered their faces. However, Belle looked at them and smiled contentedly. "You are all good children… When I am gone, I don't think your uncle will help you, so don't count on him… You have to remember that you can't have support forever. You must support yourself… Your uncle owes a favor to your parents and he should help you, but he has forgotten your parents' kindness. Don't blame him… You should have a long-term vision and a relaxed mind. It is easy to go astray if you keep remembering the bad things… Just treat him as an ordinary relative. You don't have to be close to or leave him for good…"

Brian was standing behind Aaron's family. Although Belle's voice was soft, he could hear every word. He was so ashamed that he wanted to dig a hold in the ground and bury himself in it. Mom is right. Aaron and Olivia treated me well and helped me a lot. However, I forgot their kindness after I got a job, wife, and child. I didn't even visit Mom for years. I only gave Mom and my son 2,000 a month. I have entirely forgotten Aaron and Olivia.

Brian could take care of his own family and happily live his life without hearing about them. However, he was ashamed when his mom brought the issue to the family and treated this as her last words to his brother, sister-in-law, nephews, and niece.

The three children nodded, their faces tearful.

Then, Belle said to Aaron, "Aaron, I entrusted Alex to Miss Taylor. It's not that I don't trust you, but I am worried you won't be able to fight against Brian and Rachael… After I'm gone, you and Brian are the eldest. You and Olivia are honest people, but Rachael can always make a fuss without reason. If you can't win against her, you will be crushed and can only hold in the frustration. Miss Taylor is a lawyer. I have something, so they won't give Miss Taylor trouble. So, you can have peace…"

Aaron nodded again. "Mom, I'm okay with it. I'll follow your words…"
