Ava resented Johannes, so she took being drunk as an excuse to pretend to be crazy and not let it slide.

Meanwhile, Johannes had already slapped himself in the face several times, making his cheeks red and swollen. There was even blood trickling down the corner of his mouth, but she still wouldn't let him off.

She grabbed his hair and forced him to raise his head again. "Tell me again; who are you to Austin?"

His Adam's apple bobbed in his throat, and he looked down at the ground. "Slave… I'm sorry. I'm just a slave. Please punish me, Miss Ava…"

Even though he was trying his best to endure it, Madeline could still see the shame and pain that he was hiding on his face.

At this moment, she couldn't take it anymore.

However, she shouldn't intervene with this kind of problem since Johannes' life and dignity were all the Penham Family's. If she stood up for him now, Ava would definitely take her anger out on Johannes and hold a grudge against him since she was embarrassed because of him. In the future, she'd punish him even more.

After parting the crowd, she dashed up to Ava and choked her in the neck with one of her hands, while her other hand landed a heavy punch on Ava's stomach.

Ava bent down and shouted in pain, but the girl grabbed Ava's arm and twisted it before pushing her to the ground. Then, she lifted her leg and stepped across Ava's body. While sitting on her, she landed one punch after another on Ava's face like crazy. She cried and shouted, "I'll kill you, Ava! You b*stard! I'll kill you! Die! Die!"

Shocked, Madeline's actions came to a halt.

Emory, who had been paying attention to her actions and following behind her to protect her, said softly, "That girl is Luna Penham, the daughter of the Penham Family's second son. She's very favored in the family. She even saved Old Master Penham's life before, so she's his favorite descendant."

"The daughter of the Penham Family's second son?" Madeline asked softly. "Does that make her Ava's cousin?"

He nodded. "Yes, Miss Luna is Miss Ava's little cousin sister. Her reputation outside is much better than Miss Ava's. I wonder what notorious thing she's done this time to have made Miss Luna so angry."

"She's not just angry; it seems more like hate to me," she said. "It seems like the kind of hatred where Ava killed her father."

As they were talking, Luna had already punched Ava until her face was swollen and full of bruises and blood.

At this moment, Johannes stood up from the ground to stop Luna, but he didn't dare do anything to her. As such, he could only persuade her anxiously on the side. "Calm down, Miss Luna…"

When Austin Penham was done with work, he rushed to the store to meet his sister, Ava. As soon as he entered, he saw a girl sitting on his sister and landing punches on Ava's face. Her face was covered with blood from the punch, and she couldn't fight back at all.

Seeing that, he was so furious that his head was going to explode. He strode toward their direction and grabbed the girl's collar, dragging her down from his sister before throwing her to the back.

Luna stumbled a few steps backward after being thrown out, and her back crashed into a curio shelf, which was part of the store's display.

The curio shelf rocked a few times from the knock and began falling on its back.

At this moment, there were customers behind the curio shelf. When they saw that it was falling onto them, they panicked and pushed it subconsciously, hoping to push it back up.

These people pushed the shelf together, but they used too much force at once. The shelf then fell to the ground, crushing Luna at once.

Terrified, Johannes felt his heart skip a beat. He then shouted, "Miss Luna!"

Meanwhile, Austin didn't even look at the person he had just thrown out. He simply kneeled down to check on Ava's injuries. When he heard Johannes shouting, he lifted his head gradually and looked at him. "What?"

With a pale face, Johannes rushed over to the curio shelf. "Miss Luna! Miss Luna!"

Austin then turned around to see what was going on.

Johannes discarded all the things that had dropped from the shelf and grabbed the cabinet. It seemed like he was on the verge of bursting into tears as he said, "Please help me, everyone. Help!"

Hearing that, the customers quickly helped him lift the shelf on Luna's body.

Luna was lying on the ground with her eyes closed. On her pale face, blood was continuously trickling down from the corner of her mouth. She lay in the middle of a bunch of stuff without moving an inch, and no one knew if she was dead or still alive.

When Austin saw her face, he was stunned at once.

When he entered the store, Luna had her back facing him, so he hadn't caught sight of her face.

It was totally out of his expectation that the person sitting on his sister and punching her would be Luna.

As they were talking, Luna had already punched Ava until her face was swollen and full of bruises and blood.
