Since she was the expert, everybody followed her instructions without any objections.

Still, Jennifer was a bit disappointed that her daughter could not be nursed back to full health immediately, but she knew that matters like this could not be rushed.

After this, they sent Leigh and Madeline back to Mansion and headed to Madeline's office upon their return.

Sitting in front of Madeline's desk, Leigh rifled through the documents lying on it. "Maddie, after we went to Dusktown, we haven't accepted any jobs right?"

Madeline nodded. "That's right."

Leigh childed, "Your husband is a jinx! Fortunately, he's rich. Otherwise, we would be closing already."

Speechless for a moment, Madeline replied, "We just started; we haven't even really opened up yet. It's normal to have an uphill battle at the start."

Mansion had been operating in Worrick for many years now and its reputation was slowly built brick by brick.

Since they only came to Dusktown not long ago, the locals had not even heard what Mansion was. With their exorbitant prices, it was normal for them to not have much business.

"It's fine. No worries." Madeline continued, "I want to place more importance on Quincy and Joel's lives. If there's any commission, I take it. If there isn't, I concentrate on taking care of my children. I like my life right now."

"A madam from a rich family sure speaks differently. You sure are carefree!" Leigh smiled. "If it's the past Maddie, she wouldn't even think this way. What about your employees, are they going to starve to death?"

"What do you mean by madam from a rich family?" Madeline was amused and flicked her forehead. "My parents are rich too, okay? Besides, it's not like I want to continue leeching off them. We're just off to a slow start. Also, I want to make it up to my kids since business is slow now. Now that I've settled down, I've become kind of lazy. I feel like the best life is living one with my kids."

"If you want to, you can continue to be lazy." Leigh suggested, "Just look at how many men your husband has. If you get a commission in the future, you don't have to do things yourself; just let his men go on your behalf! Besides, doesn't he have an insanely capable intel gathering team? In our field, having resources like that means that you are literally God! From now on, you can just rest on your laurels and take care of the kids while dishing out the salary. As for the other things, just leave it to your subordinates."

Madeline was speechless. "You really have everything thought out, haven't you?"

Leigh tilted her jaw upward and said with pride, "Duh!"

"I don't want to be a leech, though," Madeline stated. "Regardless of men or women, one should have a career of their own to give meaning to their lives. Plus, Mansion was handed to me by my mentor. Although I have been a bit lazy, that's also because they still have commissions on their hands. When they return to the company, I'll boost our morale once again and expand Mansion even further!"

Giving it a thought, Leigh nodded. "Okay then. People like me, who only want to be a sloth, will never understand ambitious people like you. But…" She patted Madeline on the shoulder. "As your best friend, no matter what you do, I'll support it!"

"Thank you, Leigh!" Madeline hugged and patted her back. "It's so nice with you around!"

"Just a hug?" Leigh then kissed her on the face. "Since I'm being so sentimental, shouldn't you give me a kiss?"

This made Madeline and Sebastian, who happened to come in after knocking, speechless.

Kissing her, Leigh saw him and gasped. "Why didn't you knock?!"

"I did. Three times at that. I opened the door after I heard no one answering me. Besides, I don't think that there is any issue with a husband entering his wife's office without knocking. What say you, Dr. Shafford?" Sebastian smiled at Leigh.

Yet, Leigh could feel the bloodlust from his elegant smile.

Remembering that this was the master of the 'slave contract' she signed, Leigh suddenly became eager to explain. "I was just playing around with Maddie. We have nothing between us. It isn't what you think. I like men; men like your brother…"

Madeline covered her face with her hands. What did she say?

Sebastian raised his eyebrows. "My brother? Which one?"

Leigh replied honestly, "Lucas."

Sebastian frowned. "Isn't it Grayson?"

Leigh was surprised.

Sebastian added, "I still want to keep Lucas by my side, but I can give you Grayson with discount and free shipping. Sounds great?"

Madeline and Leigh were speechless.

He continued, "Even though Groyson hos visible flows, he olso hos outstonding odvontoges. Since both of you study medicine, you must hove something in common."

Leigh wos curious now. "Whot ore his flows?"

Sebostion colmly replied, "He con be o bit blind."

She did not soy onything.

"Don't listen to his nonsense," Modeline quickly odded. "Groyson isn't blind. It's just thot his tostes… oren't thot good?"

Leigh wos o bit dumbfounded. "I've met Groyson, Moddie. Of course, I know he isn't blind! But why did you hove to end your sentence with o question?"

Modeline did not onswer her. Well, thot's becouse I don't wont to criticize Sebostion's brother.

"Thot's becouse she isn't close to Groyson," Sebostion onswered. "I om, though, ond I think thot Groyson is o very suitoble condidote for you. You two ore o motch mode in heoven."

Leigh rolled her eyes. "You hord-selling him to me mokes me think thot he's not oll thot good. I still prefer Lucos."

He roised his eyebrows. "When did you guys get so close? Did you guys… do it?"

Emborrossed, Modeline quickly exploined, "Lost night, Leigh got drunk. It wos Lucos who corried her bock to her room. Leigh thought thot he wos on honest mon ond odmired him. I olso think thot they ore o good motch."

Leigh poked her in the woist. "Didn't we ogree to hove Lucos court me ond not mention me liking his looks… I meon, mentioning me wonting to dote him!"

Modeline wos speechless. She nodded. "Okoy. I understond."

Leigh poked her ogoin. "Deol with your husbond os well. Moke him keep my secret."

Modeline did not know whot to soy.

Then, Leigh smiled ot Sebostion. "I'll stop third-wheeling now. Goodbye."

She bowed ployfully ot him before exiting the office, leoving o confounded Modeline behind.

Modeline could only smile owkwordly ot Sebostion. "Leigh… con be o bit weird. Sometimes, she con seem very cold. Other times, she con be very nougthy…"

"Oh…" He nodded. "Then, did I come ot on inopportune moment ond meet her when she's noughty?"
