“No, but it's slightly fishy.” Arissa stuck out her tongue. Benjamin wanted to get some fruits to make her feel better, but there were none in the ward because he hadn't had time to buy them yet. Thus, he poured her a glass of water instead.

“Drink more water. I'll get someone to buy fruits.” He patted her head.

Upon exiting the ward, he saw Ethen and instructed the latter to buy some fruits and snacks that Arissa liked.

Arissa was in a state of bliss.

Benjamin stayed with her in the hospital until the evening before leaving with his assistant.

He was going back to deal with his nephew.

Julian had been held in the basement with no one attending to him despite his shouts. After what seemed like an eternity, the basement door finally opened, and he looked over emotively.

A figure was standing against the light, exuding an intimidating aura.

Julian knew who it was without having to take a clearer look. That murderous gaze immediately aroused fear in his heart.

“Uncle Benjamin, I really didn't hurt Aunt Arissa! Is she all right now?” He tried playing the sentiment card, acting exceedingly humble.

At this moment, he genuinely hoped that Arissa was well.

If not, Benjamin was definitely going to skin him alive.

Benjamin walked over to Julian and looked at the latter condescendingly. Julian was in a disheveled state and no longer carried that air of authority he used to.

“Which hand did you use to touch her?” Benjamin's voice sounded like it had come from the dark abyss of hell, making one's hair rise in a heartbeat.

A chill ran down the panic-stricken Julian's spine. “I didn't—”

“I'll chop off both your hands if you don't answer me!” Benjamin scanned Julian's arms maliciously.

Seeing that the man didn't seem like he was joking, Julian was in a blue funk.

“Uncle Benjamin, I was wrong. I shouldn't have foolishly kidnapped Aunt Arissa. I promise I won't do it again. Please spare me this time!”

He wanted to stand up, but his limbs were tied up, so he couldn't move.

“Spare you? When you kidnapped my wife, did she plead for your mercy?” uttered Benjamin expressionlessly, his tone laced with venom.

Julian swallowed his saliva in terror. Arissa had, in fact, begged him for mercy. However, at that time, all that was on his mind was to take revenge on Benjamin, so how could he possibly let her go?

Crouching down, Benjamin gripped his nephew's face and added, “Have I never told you not to lay a finger on her?”

Scared witless, Julian first shook his head, then nodded. “I was wrong, Uncle Benjamin. I'll do whatever you tell me to!”

“Too late!” Benjamin wasn't a compassionate person, and this wasn't the first time Julian had crossed the former's boundaries.

If I don't give him a taste of his medicine, he will only be even more unscrupulous in the future.

“Either be put behind bars or have your hand chopped off. Make your decision!” he declared as he stood up.

Julian was in extreme despair and infuriation simultaneously. Alas, he simply wasn't strong enough to go against Benjamin at present.

If I go to prison now, my life will be over, but chopping my hand off is too cruel! If I become handicapped, everyone will look down on me!

“Are you done choosing? I don't have a lot of time to waste with you,” Benjamin urged coldly, reminding Julian not to put up futile struggles.
