Alyssa covered her face and cried, but she was quietly observing George's reaction from the corner of her eyes.

She noticed a flash of annoyance in George's eyes.

However, in the next moment, George still comforted her gently, "I will talk to Emmett about this. Don't be too sad."

Alyssa wiped her tears with a tissue and said gratefully, "Thank you, Uncle George."

George smiled and did not say anything else.

When Alyssa and George came out of the coffee shop, they saw Emmett.

Emmett seemed to have rushed over in a hurry, and his expression was somewhat nervous.

When Emmett saw Alyssa, his eyes stopped on her for a few seconds. Although his expression did not change much, Alyssa could feel that he seemed to be relieved.

She did not know if the two of them would have a strange tacit understanding after living together for a long time.

Even if he did not say anything, he could understand what he wanted to say.

But soon, she felt the aura on Emmett's body become piercingly cold.

His gaze swept across Alyssa's face. His gaze was bone-piercingly cold.

Alyssa remembered that she had just cried. Her eyes must be red and swollen at this moment.

Before Emmett could say anything, she took a step forward and fiercely slapped Emmett's face.

Slap!

The sound of the slap was very clear and loud.

Frank, who was following behind Emmett, looked at Alyssa in shock.

George, who was standing next to Alyssa, also had a flash of surprise in his eyes.

Emmett also seemed to be stunned by the beating. After a few seconds, He turned around and looked at Alyssa with a sharp gaze, "How dare you hit me?"

"Why wouldn't I dare to hit you? You took my daughter away. You are simply inhumane!" Alyssa's eyes were filled with hatred. She wished she could slap him on the face again.

Emmett's eyes flashed, but he quickly lowered his eyes to hide the emotions in his eyes. His voice did not have a trace of warmth, "She is my daughter. If I want to take her away, I will take her away. Do I need your permission?"

After he finished speaking, he curled his lips and said coldly, “Frank."

Frank understood and waved at the bodyguard behind him. The bodyguard immediately went forward and grabbed Alyssa’s arm.

At this time, George, who had been silent all this time, said, "Emmett, Alyssa is your child's mother. She lost control of her emotions because she is too worried about the child. Please tell your people to stop."

Emmett faked a smile and coldly snorted, "Let her go."

George saw that and nodded to Alyssa. "You go back first."

"Thank you. See you, Uncle George." Alyssa said gratefully before she left.

Emmett did not even look at George. He turned to George and said, "I have something to talk to you about."

"Let's talk in the car." George said and got into the car first.

Emmett took the opportunity when George turned around and looked in the direction Alyssa had left.

When Emmett heard the sound of the door closing, he followed behind and got into George's car.

George asked him, "Where did you hide the child? Alyssa is the mother of the child after all. It is not too much not to let her see her child, right?"

Emmett sneered and said, "I did not ask someone to take the child away. Even if I asked someone to take it away, I would not have let her not to see the child. The reason why I married her back then was to investigate the matter of my mother’s accident back then."

When George heard that, he asked with a puzzled expression, "Then who else could take the child away under your nose?"

"Didn't those kidnappers kidnap me and my mother right under your nose back then?" Emmett's smile kept deepening, but there was no smile on his face.

"You are suspecting me." George said a statement.

He sighed and said, "Emmett, I know you have been brooding over what happened back then, but it was just an accident. You refused to give up the investigation. But have you found anything after so many years? Aren't you living a good life now? I have handed over the Lawrence Group to you. You've taken care of it so well, and the Lawrence family is peaceful as well. Isn't that good?"

Emmett had long been used to his words, so he didn't pay any attention to George.

George was not angry. Instead, he said patiently, "This matter is over. Don't investigate it anymore. This is good for everyone. Everyone needs to look forward. Perhaps, you can find your daughter soon."

His last sentence was clearly threatening.

Emmett clenched his fists tightly. His entire body was tense. But he still did not say a word.

George had called Alyssa here today to test how much Alyssa knew about the Lawrence family.

And he wanted to see how much Alyssa and Emmett cared about each other.

If it was possible, George would not let anyone who could be used go.
