Frank sighed and asked, "Mr. Lawrence, where are we going now?"

After a few seconds, Emmett's voice rang out. "Let's go to Alyssa’s apartment."

Frank drove the car to where Alyssa lived.

The car stopped in front of the apartment building where Alyssa lived. Emmett ordered before he got off the car. "You can leave now. You don't need to pick me up."

"Yes." Frank replied.

As soon as Emmett got out of the car, Frank drove the car away.

When the doorbell rang, Alyssa was washing her face.

She had cried too hard in front of George today that her eyes were swollen beyond recognition.

When she heard the doorbell ring, she didn't need to think too much to know that it was Emmett.

Before she opened the door, she looked through the peephole. It was indeed Emmett.

She opened the door and looked around before letting him in.

"Come in." Alyssa turned around and walked into the room.

Emmett followed her and sat down on the sofa.

"What are you drinking? I'll pour you a glass of water." Alyssa said as she brought him a glass of water from the coffee table and poured water for him.

When she handed the glass to Emmett, Emmett held her hand.

Alyssa pursed her lips and did not struggle free.

Emmett pulled her to his side to sit down beside him. He wrapped her hand around his and played with it. He asked, "What did he say to you?"

"He told me about our daughter. He said he would help me find you to ask about the child." Alyssa said and paused. She then looked up at him. "Previously, you agreed to let me move out without hesitation because you knew he would look for me, right?"

Emmett did not answer her. He just put her hand to his lips and kissed it.

He kissed her gently. The hot air that came out of his mouth hit her palm. She felt a little itchy.

Alyssa kicked him. "I'm asking you a question!"

"Oh." He still did not say anything.

Alyssa could not do anything to him. She could only ask, "When Grandpa fell down stairs, they did not deliberately frame me because they wanted to harm me. They wanted to test my position in your heart. That was why you acted so suspicious in front of them, right?"

Emmett still did not speak, but his silence represented tacit agreement.

Alyssa continued to analyze clearly and methodically, "Before Grandpa was in trouble, he asked me to see him alone with you. At that time, he acted a little unusual. I guess Grandpa might have found out something or wanted to do something. And your father found out about this plan. But he could not bear to do anything to Grandpa. That was why he came up with this plan and pushed Grandpa down the stairs. It just so happened that he could frame me with this, killing two birds with one stone."

"Then, the key is, what is your father trying to hide? Is it just the truth of your mother being kidnapped?"

The more Alyssa thought about it, the more frightened she felt.

What exactly was it that made George do so many things that were harmful to the heavens? Why was he so desperate to hide it?

When Emmett saw Alyssa frowning and thinking about it, his expression also darkened.

He let go of Alyssa's hand and placed his hands on Alyssa's shoulders. He said in a deep voice, "Alyssa, look at me."

"Huh?" Alyssa turned to look at him.

Emmett looked at her. His dark eyes hid too many complicated emotions. It was hard to tell what he was thinking.

"You don't know anything now. What happened to my Grandfather was just an accident. It was because I wanted to snatch the child from you that Angela was secretly taken away. That’s all you know. Understand?"

Emmett’s grip on her shoulder was a little strong. Alyssa felt a little pain from his grip, but she did not say a word. She only asked him, "Why?"

Emmett ignored her question and only asked her. "Do you remember what I said?"

Alyssa turned her head to the side and said coldly. "I can't remember."

She clearly knew everything. But he still wanted her to play dumb and stay out of it.

Emmett knew that Alyssa was throwing a tantrum, but she listened carefully to what he said.

Emmett said to himself, "Angela is safe. George wants me to help him manage the Lawrence Group. Angela is his most important trump card, so she must be safe now. Don't worry too much."

"How can I not worry?" Alyssa was a little annoyed and reached out to grab her hair. “I am not only worried about Angela, I am also worried about you."

Emmett snorted. "You don’t need to worry about me. You just need to remember that you are my woman. You are not allowed to fool around with other guys."

They were talking about serious matters. Why was he talking about flirting again?

Alyssa nudged him. "I am talking about serious matters with you."

"I am also talking about serious matters with you." Emmett seemed to have thought of something and his expression was cold. "Stay away from that Henry or what."

"I haven't seen Henry since I returned to Holston City." Alyssa glared at him.

Emmett was a man. Why was he more long-winded than a woman?

Emmett smiled coldly and squinted his eyes at her. His tone was a little threatening. "You still want to see him?"
