Sheila abruptly stood up, determined to find Timothy.

Something about what Yates had just said made her suspect it involved Timothy and Jessica.

"Sheila, what are you doing?" Kane rose to his feet as well, following her.

"I'm going to look for Timothy. He and Jessica have been fighting lately, and I'm worried they'll get into another argument."

Kane waved her off. "Don't overthink it. That woman barely matters to Timothy. Honestly, who argues with someone they actually care about? There's no need."

"Still, I should check on them. Jessica, she..." Sheila hesitated, the rest of her sentence dying on her lips.

Neither Kane nor Yates had ever met Jessica; in fact, they didn't even know her name. And Sheila certainly couldn't mention that Jessica was mute-if Timothy found out she'd revealed that, it would only upset him.

"What's wrong with her, anyway?" Kane sounded puzzled.

Sheila glanced at Yates, then lowered her voice. "Yates, Jessica's... different. A place like the Red House isn't right for her. I know this is your place-could you help look for her? If something happened to her here, it would be a disaster."
