Chapter 157
“Spit it out here,” Thaddeus’ gaze was locked onto Evadne.
Jareth frowned, not sure how to start the conversation.
“Thad, Thad!”
Suddenly, a shout echoed, sending chills down Jareth’s spine.
Marilla was startled awake by the sound, her eyes snapping open, and she clutched onto Evadne’s clothes.
“What’s going on? Has something happened to Mr. Hamiltion?”
“Chill out, Marilla. With me around, how can anything happen to Mr. Hamiltion?”
Evadne cast a cold glance at Acacia, and then helped Marilla up as she a**ured her, “Marilla, let’s go rest. As soon as Mr. Hamiltion wakes up, you’ll see him.”
Watching her calmly walk away. Thaddeus felt as if his heart had been shot, the pain making it hard to breathe.
“Thad!”
Acacia’s eyes were swollen from crying. She tried to throw herself at Thaddeus but was stopped in her tracks by Jareth.
“Ms. Acacia, you should go to the hospital to see Mr. Stirling, then look for a lawyer to help your Mrs. Stirling. That’s what you should do right now.”
Acacia seemed to ignore Jareth’s words and continued to cry and shout, “I’ve been framed! I’m the victim! Thad, you must believe me. How could I possibly betray you?”
Thaddeus turned his back on her, clenching his teeth. His gaze was icy cold.
Hearing Acacia talk about love, he only felt disgusted.

Jareth looked at her coldly and warned her, “You should consider yourself lucky. Thad is a kind man. If it was up to me, I’d make you and your lover vanish, making the Stirling family pack up and leave this city, never to appear before me again.”
Acacia was trembling with fear from his words.
After a while, Thaddeus slowly turned around, his gaze coldly fixed on Acacia.
“Get out.”
“No, I won’t leave!”
Acacia’s voice still had a hint of coquettishness. She stubbornly refused to leave that place as if she had thought that Thaddeus couldn’t do anything to hurt her.
However, Thaddeus had already messaged Gordon, who had arrived with two bodyguards.
“Get her out of here, don’t disturb the other patients,” Thaddeus’ voice was cold and penetrating.
“Yes, Mr. Thaddeus.” They nodded and were on their way to follow his order.
Gordon, looking furious, walked up to Acacia and, with another bodyguard, escorted her away.
“There’s nothing going on between me and George! He…he forced me to be his girlfriend. After I rejected him, he even abused me! He got me pregnant!”
Acacia, in a desperate attempt to win back Thaddeus’ heart, could only defend herself with ridiculous lies and continued to say, “He’s been using my weaknesses…threatening me multiple times. If I had disagreed to his proposal, he had threatened to completely ruin my life! Thaddeus, I’m also a victim! Why won’t you believe me?!”
“Acacia.”
Thaddeus’ eyes were filled with a cold indifference that made her feel desperate, without a shred of hope, “Our breakup has nothing to do with George, or your child.”
These words left Acacia utterly confused.
She stared at Thaddeus, dumbfounded, looking lost.
“I wouldn’t blame you if you left me to go abroad, fell in love with someone else, or even had a child.”
Thaddeus’ eyes started to turn red, his fingers clenched into a fist as he angrily said, “But you shouldn’t have lied to me, saying you had severe depression. You used your illness to disregard my feelings, trying to coerce me into marrying you!”
“No…no…that’s not it…” Acacia’s face turned pale, her words incoherent.
She realized that she had made a terrible, irreparable mistake!
She used depression as an excuse to deceive him, only thinking about how she could use it to hold onto Thaddeus’ heart. But she forgot that both Thaddeus and his mother had suffered deeply from depression!
He had been so tolerant of her, even giving up Evadne, who loved him deeply, because he was afraid that she would follow his mother’s path.
However, she didn’t expect that once that huge lie was exposed, it would be the same as playing with Thaddeus’ feelings and insulting his mother!
How could he ever forgive her after all that?
Absolutely impossible!
“You used my and my mother’s illness as a tool to play with others.”
Thaddeus was filled with regret and anger, making him mock himself, “Acacia, you made me feel like a fool.”
