Zachary winced, and a trace of bitterness flashed in his eyes as he opened the door, revealing the outside scenery to Lena.

The late morning sun bathed the surroundings in bright light while a gentle breeze danced through the tree branches. Birds chirped and soared freely in the air.

Taking in the refreshing air, Lena turned her gaze toward Zachary.

“Go now,” Zachary whispered. “Lena, can I ask you for one favor?”

“What is it?” she asked.

Lena furrowed her brow.
