Genevieve glanced at the black screen and turned to Steven. “Jerry's looking for me. He said he's going to pick me up at the hospital in ten minutes.”

He nodded. “Should I accompany you, Mrs. Faulkner?”

“No need.” She thought if Armand had borrowed Jerry's identity twice, it meant their relationship was pretty good.

After she had changed her clothes, she received a message from Jerry saying that his car had arrived at the northern exit. So, after she left the inpatient department, she headed to her destination.

Upon arriving there, she saw a black minivan sitting at the side of the road.

It was as though the people in the car also saw her because the door opened. A tall man with an extremely attractive face and a pair of dazzling eyes was sitting inside.

She took an additional glance at him.

Upon noticing the look in her eyes, Jerry chuckled. “How about you come closer to my face and take a good look at who I am?”

“No need.” The moment he spoke, Genevieve was able to tell who he was. She entered the vehicle and sat next to Jerry.

As she tidied her hair, she asked, “Why are you looking for me?”

“I want you to sign a contract with me.” He went straight to the point.

That dumbfounded her slightly before she returned to her senses and raised her voice. “You're Charlotte's ex-boyfriend. If I do that, what do you think she'll do? Are you crazy or am I?”

Jerry took out two cans of sparkling water from the cooler nearby and threw one to her.

Once he opened the can and took two sips of the sparkling water, he spoke lazily. “She broke up with me months ago, and I've already lost count of how many girlfriends I've changed since then. There is no way she still remembers me. In any case, you offended Sally. No famous actors but me will be willing to sign a contract with your company.”

“That's not good enough,” Genevieve spat. I still remember how Charlotte came all the way to Baykeep to find me when she thought I had an affair with Jerry. I can tell she still cares about him. Sally's bullying has already tired me out. I don't want to deal with Charlotte at the same time.

Jerry propped his chin with his hand and stared at Genevieve. “If you sign a contract with me, your company may still rise from the dead. If you don't, it may be gone tomorrow.”

She was puzzled. “You and I aren't familiar with each other. Why are you helping me?”

“Because I owe your man a very big favor.” His eyebrow raised. “Also, because you're rich, and I need money.”

With a sigh, Jerry explained melancholically, “It took me a lot of effort to get together with her. I thought I would be able to reign supreme in the entertainment industry. In the end, my happy days were destroyed by you and your partner. I was blacklisted by her for a couple of months, so I couldn't take on any jobs or earn any money. Don't you think you should compensate me?”
