“What?” Genevieve thought she heard Bertilla wrong and stopped walking. “Why would my brother be sent to the police station?”

“He opened fire at General Loake's daughter...” Bertilla replied.

Steven told Cooper what happened to Genevieve last night. However, Armand didn't tell Steven the whole truth, so Steven thought Sally was the one responsible.

Everyone knew Sally had been attacking Specter Corporation and Genevieve lately. So, when Cooper heard the news that Sally had almost killed Genevieve, he was livid.

In the morning, he sneaked into the underground parking lot at Sally's residential area. She was able to take him down with her skills, but she was still sent to the hospital because she fainted after she was shot in her right shoulder and lost too much blood.

Gerald, upon learning the news of his daughter's assault, was furious. Additionally, Cooper was in illegal possession of a gun, so Gerald wanted the police to press charges against Cooper.

Since Gerald was the one giving the orders, it was likely Cooper would be executed.

That news sent a chill down Genevieve's spine. She quickly hung up the phone. When she saw Jerry's car was about to leave, she stopped it.

Jerry opened the door, letting her in. Then, she hurriedly said, “Go to the police station.”

At that moment, there was a paparazzi loitering around Twilight Tower.

When they saw Genevieve exiting Jerry's minivan and then back into his car a few minutes later from afar with their cameras, they quickly took pictures of the scene.

After she arrived at the police station, the lawyer she summoned had also arrived.

With the lawyer by her side, she entered the station. She intended to take Cooper's statement and bring the case to court. However, a police officer stopped them.

The officer knew Cooper and Genevieve, so he uttered emotionlessly, “While citizens do have the right to hire a lawyer to defend themselves in court, Cooper was in illegal possession of a gun. Not only that, he used the weapon to hurt the daughter of a military officer, Ms. Rachford. So, this case won't be taken to court. Instead, he'll be directly executed. Naturally, he won't be needing a lawyer.”

One of the officer's hands was placed on the stun baton at his waist. It was as though he was prepared to detain Genevieve for the crime of “causing a disturbance at a police station” if she refused to leave.

Facing the cold and merciless officer, Genevieve had no choice but to leave the station with her lawyer.

After leaving the building, she sent the lawyer back before giving Timothy a call. The closest military hospital was quite far from the city, so she assumed Sally would be at the General Hospital.

Timothy still had no idea Cooper had been detained, so after he asked around the hospital, he told her which ward Sally was staying in.

Sally was considered a soldier, but she had never served in the military before. Since she was doing pretty fine, she didn't get the same treatment as fancy treatment as Robert. Instead, she was staying in a VIP ward on the eighth floor of the inpatient department.
