Genevieve lowered her voice. “I'm sorry.”

“Are you done?” After Sally pressed on her tablet, she uttered plainly, “If you are, get out.”

Genevieve stood silently for a moment before saying, “If you let my brother go, I promise I won't show up in front of Armand again.”

Since Armand had received Ethan's heart, it meant he must take over Robert's position in the future and care for Sally. Once he started working in a government building, the chances of them meeting in the future were few and far between.

If she didn't beg Sally for mercy, it was likely Gerald would execute Cooper tomorrow.

Lastly, it was because of her that Cooper did such an impulsive thing.

Sally turned to her with a cold and merciless look. “Too bad you're too late. This morning, Armand came to find me. He told me he wouldn't marry anyone else except for remarrying you. He's willing to throw away his life for you by trying to return Ethan's heart to me. Even if you don't show up in front of him in the future, he'll still come and find you. I won't be able to stop it, and I won't do anything to you again.”

The only thing she wanted was for Ethan to stay by her side, alive. Thus, she mustn't allow Armand to die.

“If I let you take a shot at me, will that be enough to quell your anger and for you to let him go?” Genevieve proposed.

Sally suddenly sneered, “You're a very strange person, Genevieve. I heard he killed your parents. Why are you risking your life to save the man who should be your arch nemesis? What you are doing is making me think that you're stomping on Armand's effort.”

No explanation was given by Genevieve as she said, “If that's not enough, you can fire at me twice.”

“If anything happens to you, Armand will come knocking on my door. I can't let that happen.” Sally's tone was cold as ice. “Cooper has the guts to shoot me, so he must bear the consequences!”

She glanced at the tablet. “Your three minutes are up. Get out now.”

There were still things Genevieve wanted to say, but the bodyguard outside had already entered the room to ask her to leave. She had no choice but to obey.

After stepping out of the inpatient department, she stared at the blue sky feeling all anxious. If I don't devise a plan soon, the next time I hear about Cooper will be news of his death. However, Sally is very stubborn. She's probably letting her father take care of the matter. Should I give Armand a call? Wait, no. He's already in a difficult situation. If I ask him for help, I'll no doubt be throwing him into the fire.

Just as Genevieve was going to call for a taxi, a black BMW passed her by. Then the vehicle slowly drove backward and stopped in front of her.

When she thought about what had happened on the cruise ship, her body tensed up. She was about to return to the hospital when the car door opened, and a woman leaned her head out.

“Genevieve.”
