Terry was still in a relationship with Lisa. Therefore rumors of Lisa’s involvement with another man would only be embarrassing for him.
Terry did not seem to realize the consequence of his action. His relationship announcement would only get her into more trouble. She would have to find another job by the time they broke up.
Lisa chuckled at her train of thought. Revenge had always been Terry’s goal. The more miserable she was, the happier he would be.
“Fine, I get it. I don’t think anyone will get the wrong idea about me liking Jessica’s boyfriend anymore,” Lisa said.

Terry knitted his brows slightly. For some reason, he felt uncomfortable with the way she spoke. Her tone felt like an invisible barrier and a widening distance between them.
“You don’t like what I’m doing?” Terry asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.
“No, not really. You’re my boyfriend. It’s the right thing to do,” Lisa smiled. “Besides, what you did today made Jessica and Gavin look bad in front of everyone. It made me feel better, which is kind of nice, to say the least.”
Terry an odd feeling listening to Lisa’s words. It seemed hollow. Did she truly understand the reason behind his actions today? He wanted to put her under his protection, preventing others from hurting her when he was not by her side.

Lisa’s body stiffened slightly. Falling in love would mean the end of their relationship.
‘Maybe soon,” Lisa said to herself in her mind. She would start acting like she was in love with him, and then.. She would show more and more every day until he finally dumped her.
Serenity called Lisa not long after. She asked about the incident, how the police handled the matter, and if any help was needed. Lisa said, “It’s fine. We’ve made up. Both of my colleagues apologized to me.”
“They did?” Serenity was a little surprised. She remembered seeing that woman named Jessica the other day. She seemed like she would not stop until Lisa was convicted. Why would she apologize so quickly?
