“Bailey...” Artemis hissed her name through gritted teeth. There was a hint of annoyance in his tone.

The next second, he leaned in to kiss her lips, pressing hard against them.

“If you say such nasty words again in the future, I'll really beat you up.”

Bailey stared at him, her eyes growing misty. She then choked out tearfully, “You're being mean to me, and you even want to abuse me.”

“D*mn it!”

Artemis couldn't bear to see her looking pitiful, as it would provoke the beastly nature in him and make him want nothing more than crush and eat her up.

“I'll kill you if you keep acting like this.”

Bailey grinned and threw herself into his arms. “Artemis. I don't need to be the Shurmer family's heiress. This time, the reason I gave you consent to expose this matter is to alert Zoey to appreciate what she has and stop thinking of fighting with me. Now that the heads-up has been given to her, just let her off. If something similar happens again, I won't go easy on her.”

Artemis couldn't help but chuckle.

He knew that the woman before him would make such a decision.

This woman seems distant, but in fact, she is kind-hearted. As long as they are acquainted with her, even if they don't treat her genuinely, she will still repay them sincerely.

“All right. I support you. I'll assign someone to secretly keep a sharp eye on the Shurmer family these two days. If there is anything strange, I'll inform you immediately.”

Bailey nodded. “I guess they won't drag Zoey out to do a paternity test. After all, this will hurt Zoey. They will more likely head to the databank and retrieve my DNA for a test. Later, I'll hack the system of the Security Agency and fabricate my data.”

“Okay.”

The next day, the Fletcher family of four returned to Dellmoor in a private jet.

At the private airport, Bailey leaned down and patted Raiden, who was in a wheelchair, on the shoulder. With a smile on her face, she uttered, “Have a safe flight. Until next time.”

Raiden shifted his gaze to Artemis and uttered indifferently, “There are a lot of men swooning over this woman. You'd better keep an eye on her. If someone takes an opportunity and steals her, I bet you'll become the global laughingstock.”

Letting out a snort, Artemis reached out and pulled Bailey into his arms. In a gentle voice, he remarked, “You're carrying a child now and need to rest. Thus, you can't stand for too long. Mr. Fletcher is going to board the plane. Let's not hold him up. Sloan is waiting in the cabin.”

A look of astonishment crossed Raiden's face when he heard that. He then fixed his gaze on her flat belly, his eyes flashing with a trace of faint sorrow.

“Y-You are pregnant?”

Bailey pursed her lips and shot Artemis a glare before replying with a smile, “Isn't our government encouraging us to procreate? So, we want to take advantage of this chance and have a baby. Raiden, you should also find your other half, too. When there is a wife, it's where a man's home is.”

Raiden lowered his head slightly with a bitter smile playing around his lips. “Well, I'll think about it. I have to board the plane. Until next time.”

“See you.”

They watched Raiden being carried into the private plane. Soon after, the roar of the engine rang out. Slowly, the plane took off against the wind and disappeared into the clouds.

Goodbye, Raiden. May we never meet again!

Artemis wrapped his arms around her waist tightly. “He's already left. Stop feeling reluctant about his departure.”

Bailey lifted her leg and kicked him hard on his foot. Gritting her teeth, she huffed, “I'll cripple you if you get jealous again in the future.”

The man was rendered speechless.

In the garden of a suburban mansion, Yvette was leaning against the railing while feeding the fish.

Right then, her bodyguard walked over.

“Ms. Sullivan, as you have expected, Shannon has been tracking your whereabouts over the past two days. I guess she is scheming against you.”

Yvette's lips curled. She then tossed the baits in her hand into the pond and dusted the residue off her palms.

“Having known her for so many years, I naturally know her well. She is aware that she can't convince Holden and Micah to deal with me before getting hold of any evidence. But she bears a grudge against me and can't wait to watch me die. Under such circumstances, she has no choice but to take the risk and deal with me personally.”

Shannon grew up in Tarragon and was trained. Previously, she was a female assassin. It was certain that she was quite confident about her assassination skills.

Therefore, Yvette was positive that the woman would come to exact her revenge personally.

The reason Yvette visited Shannon the other day was to incite Shannon's anger, forcing the latter to make a move against her.

“What are we going to do next?”

Yvette grinned. “Could you help me ask the daughter of the person in charge of Tarragon branch out, telling her that I'd like to invite her for a facial treatment tomorrow? After that, relay my whereabouts to Shannon.”
