“Don't.” Bailey glared at him.

Artemis ignored her and continued roaming his hand on her body.

Exasperated, Bailey could only use the baby in her belly as an excuse. “We can't have sex in the first three months, or it will affect the pregnancy.”

He reached out to brush his fingers across her lips, smirking. “Well, your lips seem just fine. I'm sure we won't affect the pregnancy if we put your lips to use, right?”

Words eluded Bailey.

Meanwhile, Victoria stood by the door to the bedroom in the Saunders residence. The air was filled with a strong medicinal smell. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she took in the emaciated figure on the bed. She could not help trembling at that sight.

It had only been slightly more than one month since she left, but the strong and reliable figure in her memories had now become so haggard and skinny.

Victoria was not a fool. Naturally, she knew her father's time was almost up.

“Vicky, is that you?”

A raspy and hoarse voice rang out inside the room, calling her name. Victoria stumbled into the room and rushed toward the bed, crying out loud, “Dad... Dad...”

Vincent laboriously lifted his hand and caressed his daughter's head. “My time is almost up, and I can only leave behind a broken and worn down Saunders family to you. If you can handle it, then you should keep it. Otherwise, you can give it up, find a suitable place, and start a new life there.”

Victoria shook her head fervently as tears rolled down her cheeks. “No. Don't say that. You're still young. You won't die so soon. Bay is a skilled doctor. I'm sure she can find a way to save you. I am certain about that.”

Then, she frantically searched for her phone.

Vincent almost used up all his energy to say those words, and he could no longer stop his daughter from doing anything. All he could do was watch her run out of the bedroom in a panic.

“Mr. Saunders, just let Ms. Saunders look for Ms. Jefferson. This is her responsibility as your daughter, and it will make her feel more at ease by doing that,” said the butler standing next to him.

Cough! Cough!

Vincent started coughing violently and tried to form a complete sentence in between, asking, “Is... Is she really pregnant with the Gezmond brat's baby?”

The butler nodded in response. “The person you dispatched to protect her reported back to me that she went for a pregnancy checkup in Belmonia Island. From the hospital records, it's true that Ms. Saunders is pregnant.”

Vincent's hand, which was hanging in the air, fell limp to the side. He stared at the ceiling with despair and dread filling his cloudy eyes.

“What an ill-fated relationship! Despite what I did in the past to force them to part ways, they still ended up back in each other's lives again. Fiona, how are you going to rest in peace knowing this?”

The butler wiped his tears away and said with a choked voice, “Should we tell Ms. Saunders about what happened back then? She has the right to know her mother died a terrible death.”

“No. No. We can't.” Vincent resisted the idea with all his might.

The butler hurriedly went over and held him back down. “You're too weak to move around.”

Vincent grabbed the butler's wrist and said sternly, “Promise me. Promise me to keep it a secret in your heart. Carry this secret to your grave, and don't tell anyone, especially Vicky. We can't let her find out about this, or she will be miserable for the rest of her life.”

The butler sobbed and said in a trembling voice, “Okay. I won't tell. I won't tell her. Ms. Saunders will never know her mother—”

He immediately stopped talking, clearly afraid that he would accidentally reveal the truth.

In the meantime, at the Luther residence, Bailey softly panted while lying in bed.

She glared at the man next to her, who was seemingly in a good mood, and gritted her teeth hard.

D*mn it! My mouth stinks because of him!

“Go out,” she said.

Artemis shook his head. “I'll have to carry you to the bathroom so you could freshen up.”

She was at a loss for words.

Then, the phone she placed next to the bed rang.

Artemis walked over and looked at the screen. “It's from Victoria. Do you want to answer it?”

Victoria? I think she's back from Belmonia Island. If I'm not mistaken, someone at home called and told her to rush back home because Vincent's condition had worsened.

Thinking of that, Bailey hurriedly reached for the phone.
