Gazing at Bailey's pale face through the mirror, he said guiltily, “I'm sorry. It's all my fault.”

Bailey rolled her eyes upon hearing that. After rinsing her mouth, she turned around and embraced him. “What are you talking about? It's not like I'm disgusted by you. It's normal to have nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, so...”

Artemis reciprocated the hug as he replied, “I know. I promise I won't mess around anymore. Actually, I could just use my hands.”

Amused, Bailey couldn't help chuckling. “Let's go to the Saunders residence.”

“Okay.”

Artemis lifted Bailey into his arms and carried her out of the door.

After an hour, they arrived at the Saunders residence.

Bailey frowned instinctively when she saw all the reporters outside of the Saunders residence.

“What's happening? Why are there so many reporters here?”

Artemis pondered for a moment before answering in a deep voice, “They must have received the news that Victoria is back, so they're trying to surround her to get more information about the love triangle between Lionel, Wendy, and her.”

“They are just like disgusting flies and mosquitoes that are everywhere. They would never give up on any possible chance to intrude in people's personal lives. If we approach just like that, won't they encircle us, too?”

Artemis frowned in annoyance.

He did not bring his bodyguard with him at that moment. Though he could afford the compensation if he just stepped on the accelerator and drove in straight away, knocking those reporters down in the process, they were precious lives after all. Even if he was the almighty Artemis, he couldn't take human lives lightly.

“Ask Victoria to come out and distract them so we could go in.”

Bailey shook her head. “No way. Vicky is pregnant. It's too dangerous for her to get too close to these maniacs.”

Artemis narrowed his eyes, hesitating to call Ken and ask him to send someone over.

However, before he could decide, Bailey opened the car door and walked straight out of the car.

“D*mn it,” he cursed softly before unbuckling his seatbelt and following Bailey out of the car.

“Guys, look. Bailey is here.”

“It's Bailey! It's Bailey! Let's go and stop her.”

The reporters swarmed toward Artemis and Bailey and surrounded them along with their car in no time.

“Bailey, is that red emerald really a fake?”

“Why are you so sure that the red emerald is a fake? Are you trying to doubt Master Vespera's appraising skills?”

“What does the real red emerald look like? Could you have possibly heard of some rumors to know what the real emerald seal looks like?”

Bailey smirked as she replied casually, “I was just making things up yesterday. I don't even know if the red emerald is real or fake. Anyway, it's also better to reinvestigate the matter. Maybe the outcome of the investigation would show that the emerald is a fake. Then, they might be able to find the real deal upon the second inspection.”

Whoa... This woman is unbelievable.

Just as the reporters were about to continue asking Bailey difficult questions, she said nonchalantly, “This information should be sufficient to make the headlines. I will not answer any more questions. Those who are smart should immediately return and publish the information I provided just now. Otherwise, your competitors are going to beat you to it.”

That's true! She's right!

When that realization dawned upon them, half of the reporters left the scene one after another and rushed back to the press office to start working on the articles.

The remaining half of the reporters asked again, “So, does that mean you've admitted that you are defaming Master Vespera?”

“Bailey, are you annoyed because Master Vespera is a big shot?”

“That's right. You are jealous because someone stole your spotlight. That is why you are using such dirty tricks to give her trouble.”

“Bailey, do you think you are the only big shot, and everyone else should look up to you?”

Bailey's lips curved into a smirk. “That's right. I am defaming Vespera because I'm jealous of her being in the limelight. Also, she could only admire me because she's not even worthy to be my servant.”

Oh, my God! She is so arrogant!

As the remaining reporters got ready for another round of verbal attack in order to gain more information, Bailey raised her eyebrows and said, “Half of the reporters already left to publish the shocking news. If all of you continue dawdling here, you are going to lose coverage. Hurry up and go back to your offices to write your articles. I really won't answer any more questions. Don't even try to get anything out of me.”

All of the reporters were rendered speechless.

Artemis couldn't help giving his wife a thumbs-up as he watched the reporters clear the place one by one.

He was wholly impressed by Bailey's actions.

Her intelligence is indeed out of this world.

“Let's go. I hypnotized them just now, so they took the bait. If they snap back to their senses, they might come back to surround us again.”

When Bailey saw Vincent in the bedroom of the Saunders residence, she knew the old man's time was almost up, and he was close to death.

Even if she was a miracle doctor, there was nothing much she could do to tackle the natural progression of life. Death was, ultimately, inevitable.

“Bay, my father can still be cured, right? There's still hope, right?” asked Victoria as she stood aside, staring at Bailey earnestly.
