“Eighty million? Do you know how much you can do with eighty million? Why donate everything to some strangers?”

The finance department director swallowed the lump in his throat before answering, “M-Mr. Saunders, the issue doesn't lie in whether the receiver is a stranger, but all the listed companies have chipped in. The tycoon from Luther Group, Mr. Luther, has donated eight billion.”

Victor shot up from his chair, rounded the table, and stomped toward the director. With a swing of his leg, he sent the director tumbling to the floor.

“You b*stard! Are you showing off his wealth? Do you know who Artemis is? He's one of the top three wealthiest men in the whole world. How can I even compare? I'm sure even eighty hundred billion won't make a dent in his wallet, much less eight billion. Do you think there's even a need to compare?”

The director struggled to get up from the floor. Kneeling in front of Victor, he said with a trembling voice, “T-That was why I didn't ask you to donate billions. Eighty million shouldn't be an issue for Saunders Group. Mr. Saunders, please listen to my advice and donate this amount if you don't want to be jeered at.”

Victor's lips suddenly curved into a malicious grin.

Eighty million is enough for me to lose on the high roller tables for the entire night. Why should I donate it?

“Want to be a good Samaritan? You go ahead and be one if you like. Transfer eighty million into my account, then prepare five hundred million for me. I need it for an emergency.”

The director looked at Victor with disbelief. “M-Mr. Saunders, I just transferred two hundred million into your account three days ago. That is the company's entire working capital. I'm asking you to donate eighty million, yet you're asking money from me?”

Anger surged within Victor, and he swung his leg again. “F*ck off if you don't want to work here anymore! Get out of my sight! You're fired if I don't see five hundred million in my account by the time I get off work. I don't need useless trash.”

The director's face paled at his threat, then turned red when anger shot through him. With a trembling body, he leveled a glare at Victor. “Saunders Group is the culmination of Old Mr. Saunders' blood, sweat, and tears. He finally got the company listed after a lot of hard work. How can you squander the money freely and stomp on his efforts?”

Victor had heard a lot of reprimands from Vincent in the past. Hence, he hated others lecturing him. The minute the director opened his mouth, he had offended Victor.

“Get the f*ck out if you're not preparing the money! Many others are waiting to replace you.”

The director gave up. He was merely an employee, so how could he go against his employer? Despite being a senior even among the upper management, the man in front of him wasn't willing to listen to him.

“The company's account really doesn't have that much money anymore. You will have to sell your shares for the five hundred million.”

“Sell the shares, then,” Victor parroted without letting the words run through his mind. Those papers are useless to me anyway. I can get more money if I sell them off. Only an idiot will treasure those things.

“Fine. I'll order someone to undersell your shares. Show your share transfer agreement by then and sign it.”

“That's fine. As long as I get the money, signing is not an issue.”

When he finished, Victor wrapped his arm around the waist of the blond beauty standing at the side and strode to the door. “Let's go and have a great time, beauty.”

Meanwhile, Waverly had a troubled look on her face as she looked at Bailey, who sat opposite her in the living room of the Luther residence.

This girl who looks like me, is she really my biological daughter? I was teaching Zoey how to handle her not long ago. I didn't expect the heavens would slap me across the face soon after. Honestly, I can't make myself like this girl. Maybe it's the preconceived notions, but I treat Zozo like my own daughter. Thus, I can't like whoever Zozo considers an enemy.

“My husband already informed me of your identity. Do you have to return to the Shurmer family?”

Bailey was stunned at her question. Then, a disappointed glint flashed across her eyes.

She's asking me that question because she doesn't want me to return. I thought she would pull me into an embrace and bawl after finally reuniting. Yet the truth is telling me a beautiful imagination can only stay in one's dream.

“Shouldn't I return to the Shurmer family? I'm a daughter of the Shurmers. I have to acknowledge my family line.”

After a short silence, Waverly negotiated, “Can you not expose Zozo's identity to any outsiders? If the others know she isn't a daughter of the Shurmer family, they will call her a bastard.”

Bailey laughed softly, but her eyes were slowly turning ice cold. Every expectation she had for her mother was gone. She was too naive, wishing to have a dream-like familial tie, not knowing she meant nothing in her mother's eyes.

“How are you planning to explain mine if you're going to hide Zoey's identity?”

Waverly clenched her jaw and replied, “We'll just say the Shurmer family adopted you. We promise to give you the title of the eldest daughter of the Shurmer family so that you can have a grand wedding.”
