“No. Don't use LG Corporation's funds. Get the money from my personal bank account. Don't let anyone know about this, especially Mrs. Gezmond. Do you hear me?”

“Yes, Mr. Gezmond. I'll get it done.”

In a guest room in Tarragon's branch, Yvette was on the phone. “When are you going to act?”

On the other end of the phone, Sofie answered, “Tomorrow. You come up with an excuse to say you need to shop. My men will disguise themselves as assassins from the Saviors to assassinate you. You'll just have to suffer some light injuries.”

Yvette went silent. A vicious glint flashed across her eyes when a cunning scheme came into her mind. “I have a condition.”

“What is it?”

“I'll ask Holden's sister, Shannon, to go out with me tomorrow. Get your men to kill her and frame the Saviors. Holden and Micah will definitely release their wrath upon the Saviors.”

Sofie smiled in response. “Sure. As long as you can get Shannon to go out with you, I'll get my men to kill her.”

“Okay. That's a deal, then. You can make your move once I confirm the meeting venue with Shannon. Remember, I want Shannon dead.”

“All right. I have nothing to do with that woman. I'm not going to feel bad about her death. I'll get rid of her.”

Later that afternoon, Zeke arrived at the Luther residence in a hurry. He was only allowed to see Bailey after Felicity was done showing him her displeasure.

In the bedroom, Bailey was on the phone, telling the people from the foundation to purchase disaster relief supplies across the country and send the needed supplies to the affected area as soon as possible.

Upon entering the room, Zeke closed his eyes and took a rest on the couch.

After Bailey hung up her phone, Zeke asked with his eyes closed, “Bay, didn't we say the Shurmer family is going to hold a press conference in a few days' time and tell everyone that you're the Shurmer family's eldest daughter? Why are you refusing to return to the Shurmer family all of a sudden?”

Bailey was leaning against the floor-to-ceiling window. She flashed a half-smile and looked at Zeke while raising her brows. “What do you think about the Shurmer family acknowledging me as an adopted daughter?”

Zeke, who was usually polite, couldn't help but curse, “What the f*ck is there to think about? Are you still worried about Zoey? Are you worried that she'll become everyone's target once you return to the Shurmer family?”

Bailey let out a sarcastic chuckle in response. A cold glint flashed across her eyes as she asked, “Do you think I will still treat Zoey with compassion after she and the father-and-daughter duo from the Jefferson family caused me to have a miscarriage?”

“In that case, why are you...” Zeke paused and furrowed his brows. “Did someone come to the Luther residence to look for you? Did that person force you to return to the Shurmer family as an adopted daughter? Who was it? Was it my dad or my mom?”

Bailey was briefly stunned. I didn't expect Zeke to be so sharp. He figured it out!

“That's not important. What's important is that I don't want to return to the Shurmer family. Frankly, I don't mind not having biological parents. Don't worry. The Luthers won't turn their backs on me.”

“Tell me! Who came to look for you?” Zeke raised his voice, and there was a hint of anger in his tone.

Bailey turned away. “The matter has been decided. Don't ever bring it up again. Although I'm not returning to the Shurmer family, you're still my brother. There's no difference.”

No difference? If she doesn't return, she'll forever be labeled as an illegitimate child! There's a huge difference! Zeke was getting impatient. “You're not going to tell me, are you? Fine. I'll go home and ask them myself. I want to find out who of them would make such a ridiculous suggestion as a parent.”

The Novel will be updated daily. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
