At the end of the corridor, Bailey bumped into Zeke, who was walking toward her. She couldn't maintain her balance and kept stepping back. Upon seeing this, Zeke quickly reached out and grabbed her arm.

“Bay, you're almost thirty, why are you in such a hurry? What happened?” he asked worriedly.

Once Bailey regained her balance, her emotions gradually settled, and she seemed to have figured it out all at once.

She couldn't help but burst into laughter and then said, “I was just being too anxious. I get worked up over every little thing that happens to him. It's fine now, Zeke. Did you need me for something?”

Zeke released her arm, a trace of worry flashing across his handsome face.

He attempted to ask, “I received news from Moranta that Juliana has fallen into a coma and is in imminent danger. I came here to ask you about your plans.”

After pondering for a moment, Bailey reassured him.

“You don't need to worry. They're just trying to force me out. Before I make a move, Julie will be safe. I just injected a toxin into Artemis earlier. If we counteract the poison with the toxin, we'll know the outcome in the next few days. Just wait a little longer.”

Zeke chuckled and shook his head with a smile.

“That's your disciple, yet you're the one comforting me. What kind of strange situation is this?”

Bailey raised his eyebrows and teased, “She slept with you, making her the closest person to you in this world, and I...”

Zeke waved his hand, interrupting her.

“All right, I can't argue with you. Let's end this topic here.”

“All right then, you go keep an eye on Artemis for me, and I'll go find Cameron. I have some questions to ask him.” After saying that, Bailey turned around and ran. Zeke couldn't help but rub his forehead.

I must have owed this pair of adversaries in my previous life.

“Remember to keep Juliana's situation in mind. Whether she lives or not is entirely in your hands,” Zeke reminded.

“Don't worry, I'll take care of Juliana. I've been concerned about it all along. I even discussed it with Artemis,” Bailey reassured.

Zeke stayed silent. Bailey rushed to the laboratory, forcefully pushing open the glass door. She quickly walked over to the equipment and abruptly grabbed Cameron by the collar.

“What did you put in that toxin? Why did Artemis fall asleep immediately after the injection?” she demanded.

Cameron became furious and swatted her hand away, glaring at her as he said, “You heartless woman! I was worried that he couldn't withstand the attack of two toxins and would suffer unbearable pain. So I added some powerful anesthetic to ease his pain. Have you ever seen a rival like me, who has such a kind heart?” Bailey was taken aback.

An anesthetic? Just an anesthetic?

Seeing her skeptical expression, Cameron burst into laughter.

“Fine, I'm being pathetic, absolutely pathetic. I shouldn't have thought about his well-being, and shouldn't have used anesthetic. I should have let him suffer and die in excruciating pain. It would have been great, then there would be no one competing for my beloved.”

Bailey coughed lightly, awkwardly smiling to hide her embarrassment.

“Um, indeed I was too impulsive. I apologize,” she said.

Cameron snorted twice and said menacingly, “Remember what you promised me earlier. You have to let me accompany you wherever you go for the next six months. If you dare to break that oath and leave me behind, I won't be responsible for the remaining treatment sessions.”

Bailey squinted her eyes slightly, a dangerous glint flashing in them.

“What do you mean by 'remaining treatment sessions'? You better explain that clearly to me,” she demanded.

Cameron spread his palms and grinned wickedly.

“I'm not stupid. How could I possibly cleanse all the toxins in his body simultaneously? Once he's completely detoxified, he'll turn against me immediately. I can't defeat him, and if you protect him, I won't have any chance to be with you.”

Bailey laughed out of frustration.

This jerk...

She reached out and grabbed the vessel on the table, making a gesture as if she was about to throw it at him.

If I guessed correctly, this should be the new toxin he had developed. A precious one indeed.

As expected, as soon as she raised the vessel, Cameron cried out.

“Bailey, please don't act impulsively. We can discuss things and find a solution together,” Cameron hurriedly pleaded.

Bailey coldly stared at him and asked deliberately, each word pronounced clearly, “Why do you insist on following me? Don't lie to me. Be honest and tell me. You should know that I'm not that easily fooled.”

Over the years, this guy has never approached me, let alone clung to me like this. He suddenly acts out of character, so a hidden motive must exist.

“Speak up. Why are you following me?” she questioned.

A hint of hesitation flashed in Cameron's eyes as he watched Bailey raise the vessel, preparing to smash it to the ground. Then, he hurriedly spoke up.

“By following you, I can find the traitor of the Yablon family.” Bailey's hand froze.

A traitor of the Yablon family? What does that have to do with me?

“Explain it clearly,” Bailey said sternly.

Cameron sighed softly and said leisurely, “Did Cadence die at your hands? He has a younger brother who has been hiding in the Yablon family. Recently, he stole Soul Reaper and fled.”
