Chapter 641 Come To Find You

Blaine was worried that Lysander would follow in the footsteps of the previous doctors. Upon realizing the disparity between the development of the rural areas and the city, those doctors simply left without second thought.

Lysander was already committed to healing the sick and saving lives. Upon hearing Blaine’s words, she felt a–softness in her heart and assured him, “Rest assured, I should be able to stay here until the end of the year. In fact, I won’t leave within this year.”

Upon hearing these words, Blaine’s initial reaction was one of disbelief. “End of the year? R–Really?”

“If there are no other changes, that should be the case,” Lysander reassured him in a gentle voice. “As doctors, we stand by our words. You can confidently inform everyone that if they are feeling unwell, they can come straight to me. They need not worry about troubling me.”

Tears streamed down Blaine’s face immediately as he repeatedly exclaimed, “Sure! That’s good!”

Lysander chuckled and said, “However, I do have one more request. I hope you can agree to it.”

Blaine nodded, tears streaming down his face, his hands shaking with excitement, uncertain of where to place them. “Of course, I’ll agree! As a matter of fact, I’m sure everyone in the village will be more than happy to help you in any way possible!”

As the village chief, all he could do for his villagers at that moment was to figure out a way to retain this excellent doctor in their village.

Lysander uttered politely, “Could you please relay this to everyone? We appreciate the sentiment, and the nurses and I are grateful. However, we can only accept the gifts this one time. It’s not that we think less of the village’s offerings or that they don’t suit our tastes. It’s just that there are only four of us. We can’t possibly finish so much, and it would be a waste to see such good things go unused.”

She spoke earnestly, genuinely worried about the amount of items piled up in their dorm. Even if they included everyone in the health center, they still wouldn’t be able to consume everyone’s goodwill in a short amount of time.

Upon hearing this, Blaine pondered carnestly and responded, “How about I tell them about presenting a banner instead? I’ve seen it done on television, and there’s a shop in town that can make such banners. It wouldn’t be any trouble at all.”

“Absolutely not!” Lysander said, caught between laughter and tears. “It’s best if everyone just stays healthy.”

“All right…” Blaine was beaming, his eyes crinkling so much they seemed ready to burst into bloom with laughter.
