Chapter 355

Gideon's POV

Avery looked at me. Her face, which had just been smiling, fell.

Her eyes narrowed, and her mouth twisted into a scowl. Then,

she turned and walked away without a word.

My wolf howled desperately as | watched her go. Frustration and

anger surged through my chest, hot and sudden like a red-hot

poker had been stabbed into my heart. In that moment, | felt that

| would have preferred it if the security guards at her office had

simply shot me with their guns.

After everything we had been through together, after ten years of

miserable separation and searching for her and missing her, she

couldn't even look at me.

It was like she hated me. No, worse than that; it was like she felt

nothing for me at all. Like | was just a ghost from her past that

she wanted to forget about

“Avery! Avery!!” | shouted, gripping the bars of the gate. The

guards grabbed at my arms, but | didn’t let go. “AVERY!”

Sebastian, the bastard, calmly walked over to me with his hands

in his pockets. He nodded his chin at his men, who released me

and stepped back.

“Hello, Alpha Gideon.” He stopped just out of reach, obviously
