Chapter 139
Edgar was slightly taken aback, not expecting her to refuse so decisively.
Grace said, “Those years were incredibly dark for me, starting from when Grandfather brought me into the old mansion. He showed me favor, but he also didn’t trust me. When Yvonne accused me of stealing the jewelry and Greg chimed in, Grandfather didn’t say a word. Although I don’t hold any grudge against him for that incident, there’s no way I would commemorate the day I entered the old mansion.”
Her gaze was icy to the core.
It had been a long time since Edgar had seen her look at him with such eyes. He quickly apologized. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know…”
Grace wouldn’t direct her anger at him.
“You were probably busy with work at the Fallen Family at that time, so it’s normal that you didn’t know. But we don’t need to have this commemorative dinner.”
As she spoke, she glanced at the time and realized it was getting late.
After instructing Eleven to take care of Edgar, she turned to leave.
Edgar swiftly grabbed her hand.
“Grace, do you know that Adrain is going to propose to you tonight?”
Grace wasn’t surprised, but she still turned back and asked, “How do you know?”
Edgar didn’t hide it. “When he came to the Fallen company looking for you last time, I met him. He told me. I think he has a kind heart and could be a good friend, but he will undoubtedly make you sad if you are together.”
On this point, Grace shared the same view as him. Adrain’s gentle and refined nature was not directed at one person but towards everyone.
But hearing these words from Edgar’s mouth as a reminder felt ironic to her.
“Whether he will be a good husband or not is still uncertain, but you definitely are not. So, what right do you have to say these things?”
Edgar’s face turned pale instantly.
After a momentary pause, he looked at her again and said, “As your former husband, I failed to fulfill my obligations and brought you pain. I have let you down. I’m sorry..
Grace released his tightly held hand. “There’s no need for apologies. Once the one-year agreement. between us is fulfilled, we will have no debts between us and will be two parallel lines that will never intersect.

Adrain’s face turned increasingly pale as he watched her break free from his grasp and leave the villa.
So, did she really like Adrain?
Seven-star Douglas Hotel in Frant City.
Adrain reserved an entire floor for the rooftop restaurant.
The entire floor was covered in 9,999 red roses, and the engagement ring box was hidden inside the birthday cake.
Chapter 139
The French-style long table was adorned with exquisite gifts, each representing his attempt to make up for the six years he spent apart from Grace on every birthday and holiday.
Adrain carefully checked every little surprise to ensure that everything was perfect. He adjusted his tie and prepared to practice how he would propose. This was already his third confession to Grace since coming to Frant City for her. The previous two attempts were either rushed or hindered by
others.
This time, he was determined to succeed! Lost in his thoughts, a man dressed in a suit and resembling a bodyguard approached.
“Hello, Mr. Grammer. I am Miss Grace’s bodyguard.”
“Why haven’t I seen you before?”
Enzo squinted and smiled, “I am Fifteen. Miss sent me out on a mission before. The last time you came to the Bay Villa, Seventeen and Eighteen escorted you back.”
“I see.”
Adrain smiled in return. Observing the young man’s sunny and friendly appearance, he had no doubts. Because Grace was particular about appearances, her bodyguards were all good-looking.
Enzo continued, “Mr. Grammer, Miss has prepared a surprise birthday gift for you and would like to invite you to the rooftop terrace.”
Upon hearing that Grace had prepared a gift for him, Adrain felt delighted.
“Great, she’s thoughtful.”
He followed Enzo, and the two bodyguards accompanying him followed suit.
Enzo noticed this and questioned. “Miss is waiting for Mr. Grammer alone on the rooftop. Should Mr. Grammer bring bodyguards and dampen her excitement?”
After thinking for a moment, Adrain also felt it was inappropriate. How can there be two third wheels during such a romantic moment?
“You guys wait here. It’s just the rooftop; there shouldn’t be any issues.”
“Yes, Mr. Grammer.”
The elevator in the Douglas Hotel didn’t go directly to the rooftop. They had to take the safety passage to reach the top floor.
Enzo opened the door to the rooftop and gestured for him to enter.
Adrain returned the gesture with a humble smile and walked in with big strides. The rooftop was empty, with nothing at all.
He realized something was wrong.
“Where is Gráce? You lied to me!”
He turned around, ready to leave, when suddenly a man dressed in an employee uniform lunged. from belrind and covered his mouth with a white cloth. Adrain struggled for a moment but was quickly overpowered and knocked down.
The man in the employee uniform removed his mask, revealing a familiar face.
Enzo asked, “Where should we take him?”
After a moment of thought, the familiar face replied, “Let the guys take the employee passage to Frant City Port and put him on a cargo ship. It’s best if it’s an outbound ship. The boss said, Throw him as far as possible.”
