The next day, when Madeline woke up, there was no one in the tent.

She found Sebastian and the two children at the edge of the cliff.

"Mommy, you're awake!" Joel smiled and waved at her when he saw her.

"Darling!" She walked over to him with a smile. "When did you guys wake up? Why didn't I hear anything?"

"We woke up very early," Sebastian replied with a smile. "Our sons are very well-behaved. They got up quietly without making any noise."

If it weren't for his light sleeping, even he wouldn't have known.

Madeline walked over and sat down next to the two children, rubbing their little heads. "Why did you wake up so early?"

Joel leaned close to her ear and said mysteriously, "Aldo and I decided yesterday that we wanted to watch the sunrise!"

"Why didn't you tell Daddy and me last night and let us accompany you?" Madeline asked.

Joel replied, "Aldo said that we like watching the sunrise, but you and Daddy might not. Whoever likes watching the sunrise can get up, and those who don't can sleep in!"

Sebastian smiled and rubbed the back of Quincy's head. "Our Aldo is really considerate."

Aldo said matter-of-factly, "That's only natural!"

Sebastian chuckled and pinched his soft cheek, liking him more and more.

"Mommy, let me show you the photos we took of the sunrise!" Joel proudly presented the photos he took and showed them to Madeline.

After Madeline carefully scrolled through them, she sincerely praised, "They're so beautiful!"

"Yeah!" Joel nodded vigorously. "They're breathtakingly beautiful!"

Madeline smiled and rubbed his little head. "Our Joel has a way with words!"

Joel proudly chuckled.

Madeline chatted with the father and sons at the edge of the cliff for a while. Then, she said to Sebastian, "I'll check on Miss Atkinson. You guys stay safe."

Sebastian nodded. "Go ahead. We'll call you when breakfast is ready."

"Okay!" Madeline rubbed her precious sons' heads a few more times and went to Amy's tent.

Amy was already awake and greeted Madeline as soon as she entered. "Good morning, Miss Taylor."

"Good morning." Madeline smiled. She asked, "Did you sleep well last night?"

Amy replied, "Yeah, I did."

In fact, she didn't sleep much at all. Although the family doctor of the Harts had treated her wounds, they still hurt. Her right foot couldn't move, and every movement caused intense pain. On top of that, her mind was filled with thoughts about Noah. She couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard she tried.

"You didn't sleep well, did you?" Madeline noticed her pale complexion and guessed it. "Is the pain from your wounds keeping you awake? Should I ask the doctor to add some sedatives to your medication?"

"That would be fine," Amy said. "Sorry for bothering you, Miss Taylor."

Insomnia was torturous. Last night, her mind was so restless as though it were going to explode. The more she thought about it, the more she despised Noah. She wanted to break up with him.

No matter what, they had to break up!

"Miss Atkinson, would you like to continue traveling with us, or should I have someone escort you back to Dusktown?" Madeline asked. "I'd like to hear your opinion and make arrangements for you."

"Miss Taylor, you can call me Amy." Amy pondered for a moment. She said, "If it's not too much trouble for you, I'd like to follow your group. Wherever you go, you can just leave me at a hotel to rest."

She felt that it would be too much trouble to have them go out of their way to send her back to Dusktown.

"Alright," Madeline said. "We'll probably be out for another five or six days. After that, we'll return to Dusktown."

Their plan was to have fun in Moon Bay for five or six days, then return to Dusktown for a few days' rest.

After returning to Dusktown, Sebastian would take care of some work-related matters at his company. Once everything was settled in Dusktown, they would set off again to an island that Quincy liked, where they would stay for another five or six days.

During their rest in Dusktown, they could take care of Amy.

These plans had long been discussed and agreed upon by her and Sebastian, but things didn't go according to plan.

That night, Joel had a fever.

He had a fever all night, and the couple didn't get much sleep as they took care of their child, especially Sebastian, who wanted to stay by his son's side and watch him without blinking. Madeline tried to persuade him to get some sleep, but every time he closed his eyes for a moment, he would open them wide as if he had been startled.

After he opened his eyes, the first thing he did was touch Joel's forehead.

This was the first time Madeline saw him being so caring and responsible as a father.
