Sebastian smiled and hugged him. "Don't worry, you didn't cause any trouble for us. Actually, we were planning to go back and rest for a while. I need to handle some business at my company, and once I'm done, we can go to a new place for a vacation."

"Is that so?" Joel looked at him pitifully. He asked, "Did I really not cause any trouble for everyone?"

"No, you really didn't." Sebastian smiled and kissed him on the forehead. "You're too nice, Buddy. If we follow your logic, should we be blamed for not taking good care of you and letting you get sick?"

"No!" Joel shook his head vigorously. "It's because of my weak constitution. It has nothing to do with you and Mommy. Quincy didn't get sick."

He looked at Quincy.

Quincy said, "I'm the elder brother, so it's my responsibility to take care of my little brother. It's only natural that I didn't get sick."

"You're both too nice!" Sebastian ruffled their hair. "Alright, let's get ready. We're going home!"

They came here on a private plane, so they could go back whenever they wanted without needing to book tickets or anything.

Madeline found Amy and explained the unexpected situation to her, informing her that they would soon be returning to Dusktown.

Amy had no objections.

She asked with concern, "Are the kids okay?"

Although she had only met them a few times and hadn't spent much time with them, she really liked those two adorable and well-behaved children.

Madeline said, "Joel's fever has gone down, but his tonsils are still a bit swollen. That's why I want to take them back home and let him recuperate."


Amy nodded. "That's the right thing to do."

It was fun to go sightseeing, but it was more convenient to rest at home when one was sick, since it would ensure speedy recovery.

After getting ready, the family boarded the plane and returned to Dusktown.

On their way back, Joel snuggled in Sebastian's arms and fell asleep. He slept all the way.

The usually chatty little boy suddenly became quiet, which Sebastian was particularly unused to. He would occasionally lower his head to check on him, touch his forehead, and see if he had a fever again.

Madeline could tell that Sebastian really cared about the two children. She felt the same way—she wished she could get sick instead of the children.

In the past, when the kids got sick, she was the only one busy taking care of them, feeling both heartbroken and anxious.

Now, she had someone by her side who shared the same feelings. In her heart, she felt much more at ease. She was no longer fighting alone; if they encountered any unexpected situations, she had someone to consult with. And that person, who loved the children as much as she did, would undoubtedly make the best choices for them.

It feels so great to have a comrade-in-arms by my side!

The more she thought about this, the more secure and warm she felt. She couldn't help but lean against Sebastian's shoulder. Now, she had someone to rely on.

When she was tired, she could indulge herself and lean on his shoulder. It was really nice.

"Tired?" Sebastian turned his head to look at her. "If you're tired, go lie down in the back. I'll take care of the children myself."

"It's okay, I'm not tired," Madeline smiled and shook her head. "I just suddenly feel… that it's really good to have you help me."

"It's not that it's good now, but it was really bad before," Sebastian said. "We met each other too late. If we had met a little earlier, I wouldn't have let you struggle alone with the kids. It's been hard on you."

"No, it's not…" Madeline smiled and shook her head.

Many men who weren't as good as Sebastian would think it was a woman's duty to have children and take care of them, but Sebastian never thought that way.

In today's society, many women would go out to work during the day and come back to take care of the children and do housework at night while men only had to go out and earn money. When they came home, they just lay on the couch, ate, played on their phones, and slept. They didn't do anything else.

They said men and women were equal, but in reality, there was still inequality between many men and women nowadays. It was considered natural for men not to do housework while women who didn't do housework were seen as lazy.

Although there were no laws that dictated this, it had become a social convention that women should do housework and take care of children.

However, when Madeline was with Sebastian, he spent more time taking care of the children. As long as he was there, he would always be around the two children. He could think of everything the children needed, and she could just stand by and watch him take care of them.

Sebastian was incredibly wealthy, but he never thought that doing housework and taking care of children was a woman's duty. He took care of her, cherished her, and wished that she didn't have to do anything except what she liked.
