David and Jason were both touched to tears at that point. “This is way too tragic!” Jason sobbed.

One of the men ran up to Tim and lifted his shirt to check his body, only to gasp in shock when he saw the scars.

“My goodness! What monster would be so cruel as to hurt a child this badly?

“I can't believe someone would abuse such an adorable child!”

“These scars look like they were from many years ago. I bet he was beaten when he was still a baby!”

While those men weren't exactly saints, they could never bring themselves to abuse a child like this.

In fact, this was their first time kidnapping children.

Zachary stole a glance at them and saw that they were gathered around Tim. He then took the phone on the table while they weren't looking and checked if it was locked with a password. His eyes lit up when he saw that a password was not required to unlock it.

He quickly gave Benjamin a call using that phone and hung up the moment the call got through.

Benjamin was waiting for an update from the men tailing Justin and Julian. He frowned in confusion when he saw an unknown number calling him and hanging up immediately.

Did this person call the wrong number, or is this...

“Jack, I want you to track down the location of this phone number right away!”

Not wanting to miss out on any possible clues, Benjamin quickly had Jack investigate the phone number.

Jack came back shortly after and said, “We have traced this number to a suburban area, Mr. Graham. It looks like a property that belongs to the Rogers family!”

The Rogers family, eh?

Benjamin's eyes narrowed when he heard that.

“Get someone to call this number and pretend to be a property agent promoting a house or something.”

“Understood! I'll get it done right away!” Jack replied.

“Put it on speaker!” Benjamin added.

Jack nodded and gave the number a call, which got through after a few seconds.

Zachary's heart raced as he wasn't sure if it was Benjamin calling back.

“Property? What property? I can't afford a house, so stop calling me or I will sue you for harassment!” Jason shouted in annoyance.

His level of impatience suggested that he had probably received lots of calls from property agents in the past.

Zachary let out a cough that was just loud enough to be heard by the person on the other line.

“I bet you guys are only calling because nobody's buying your houses! Unless you want to give me one for free, don't call me again!” Jason shouted angrily and hung up the phone.

Benjamin's expression changed the moment he heard the cough. That was a child coughing in the background!

“We're heading over there right away!”

As Benjamin had yet to receive any ransom calls from the kidnappers, he believed that call earlier was Zachary's attempt at giving him a clue and wanted to check it just in case.
