Meanwhile, in the hotel, Tamara took Scarlett's hand in hers, sat on the couch, and said quietly, “Olivia called me half an hour ago and said Justin's sperm had been extracted from his body. I've already sent someone to retrieve it. For now, your eggs will be extracted from your body, and once the test-tube baby is ready, I will instruct someone to implant it in your body.”

Scarlett seemed overjoyed with the news. She grabbed Tamara's arm and asked anxiously, “Mom, is it really Justin's? You're not lying to me, right? I'm telling you right now that if it's not Justin's, I won't carry it even if it means having a miscarriage. I'd rather die than have the child of another man.”

Tamara glared at her and snarled, “Is your mother that untrustworthy in your eyes? I'm well aware of your personality. Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you.”

Tamara then turned to the female bodyguard standing nearby and said, “Be quick. Time is running out. Quickly extract her eggs and leave.”

“Yes, Mrs. Fletcher,” the female bodyguard replied.

Tamara reached out and yanked Scarlett up, pulling her toward the bedroom. “This is all I can do for you, Lettie. I did this behind your father's back. He'd be furious if he found out, but that doesn't matter because I care more about you. How could I bear seeing my precious daughter spend the rest of her life in prison?”

Scarlett turned to face Tamara and wanted to say something, but she stopped her.

Tamara urged, “Go on. Don't waste time. All my previous efforts will be for naught if your brother finds out.”

Scarlett went into the bedroom without saying anything.

Meanwhile, at the Jefferson residence, Rhonda wandered around the silent garden after being escorted back by a few bodyguards.

Although the Jefferson family was not a prestigious family in the past, they were still one of the wealthiest families in Hallsbay, with a lot of maids.

However, the Jefferson residence was in a desolate state at the moment. Rhonda walked all the way from the front door to the Jefferson residence, but she didn't see a single servant.

As Rhonda ascended the stairs and entered the living room, an unusual sound came from within.

She looked up instinctively and saw a man and a woman hooking up on the couch.

Rhonda recognized her. It was Beatrice, her mother, and she had personally committed Rhonda, her own daughter, to a psychiatric hospital.

Rhonda had no idea who the man on Beatrice's belly was. He should be the lover she has kept outside all these years.

A family that has fallen into such a state. It's ironic and ridiculous to watch.

“Ahh!” Beatrice screamed violently from the couch, seemingly sensing someone at the door. She was slightly taken aback when she got a good look at the visitor. “R-Ronni, w-why are you here?”

Rhonda stared at her coldly and said hoarsely, “Put your clothes on. Don't sully my eyes.”

“Huh? Oh, all right.” Beatrice stretched her hand out to push away the man on top of her and wore her clothes frantically. Realizing something was wrong while putting on clothes, she raised her head and looked at Rhonda in bewilderment. “Y-You've recovered from your madness?”

Rhonda glanced at her coldly and walked toward the stairs. “Bailey did it. I'll just stay home, hoping that the b*tch's body won't be found and that she'll die a horrible death.”

Beatrice gulped as she was taken aback by Rhonda's hostile and murderous aura. “Uh... Your father is in the infirmary. His condition is not very good. He'll probably only be able to live for a few more days.”

Rhonda did not stop. As she walked, she said, “Find a place to bury him if he dies. Living is also a form of torment.”

Rhonda's words were met with silence.

Meanwhile, in the living room at the Shurmer residence, Zoey was whimpering and crying in Waverly's arms. “M-Mom, just expel me from the Shurmer family. Everyone outside thinks I'm Sophia's illegitimate child. I'm disgusting. I'm afraid that staying with the Shurmer family will tarnish the Shurmer family's reputation.”

Zoey was astute because she knew how to appear weak and pitiful.

The sight of Zoey's tears broke Waverly's heart.

After all, Waverly had raised Zoey on her own and had always adored her, so how could she remain indifferent?

“Zozo, how could you think that? We should provide you with more protection precisely because times are hard right now. How could we drive you out of the house? Please, no more crying and nonsense. If I had known in advance that Zeke would expose this matter in front of countless reporters, I wouldn't have let him get away with it even if it meant knocking him out and locking him up at home.”

“But it has already happened,” Zoey choked out.

“That's right. It has already happened, so you have to be strong and face them head-on. Those people enjoy gossiping, so let them. Why are you sad when you have nothing to lose?”

“But—”

“Shh, it's going to be all right. Everything is going to be all right.”

Zoey nestled in her arms and probed tentatively, “Mom, will you allow Bailey to come back to reclaim her identity?”

Waverly was a little hesitant to answer her.

After this incident, I've seen through a lot of things and subconsciously approved of Bailey as my daughter. Could I tell her that I'd allow her to reclaim her identity?

When Zoey noticed Waverly's hesitation, her expression turned gloomy instantly.
